I love the people who say, "no one will play on that POS site b/c of its rep" etc. No such thing as bad publicity. This site has an unreal amt of exposure (all be it, negative exposure) and so when it does get the "new image" and repositions itself under new management, you better believe that not only will there be players but I think there will be more than before...

Every one gets there account funds back, new owners, legal cash transfers in US and cash outs work. 2 weeks 100k players. But the US will have to regulate all the other gaming commissions are paper tigers
-
Funny I don't see too many "go put on your tinfoil hat" comments anymore. Looks like blind faith in an unregulated overseas operation will have some of you eating out of tinfoil containers for awhile. Best of luck getting your $$ back.

LOL blackberry your a bum get real all i hear is a little girl ranting thinking she know whats actually occuring. You cant speak on shit you have no way of knowing about(DOJ findings). sounds like a bunch of wishfull thinking and someone venting b/c there butt hurt about getting caught with there pants down(money stuck online) so get real and understand that the people who typically get victimized by ponzis's dont come away with anything :( its an opinion that if the same software was offered that players would accept or support it this is not a fact. alot of us are thinking investors not moths to a flame of mtts on a shady ass site. think of the trust level they have lost with EVERYONE on the planet u fucking panzi. they've been dead silent no updates and turns out they were raping hard and just dont give a fuck now there caught GG TILT

FTP under new management, but with the same software and game offerings, would be back and better than ever IF and WHEN the money owed out, is paid.
all of this debacle has been an absolute shit show for the past few months, agreed... however it was NOT done intentionally by one, some, or all members of the FTP owners. The owners and operators of FTP had no way of knowing an event like BF would ever occur, causing such dramatic effects throughout the world of online poker. They had a multi billion dollar business, agreed that was managed very poorly, however there is and was NO REASON for them to ever "fuck us over". they were making WAY TO MUCH $$$$$$ to ever have to do that. The most part of the blame should go on the US DOJ, Eric Holder, and this fucking camel jockey, preet bharara, parading around trying to make names for themselves. FTP was not a "ponzi scheme" as tho dubbed by Bharara. OBV this fucking tool doesnt even know the true definition of what a ponzi scheme is, and i'm assuming most of you ignorant mother fuckers dont either. I'm not taking up for anyone associated with the decision making of FTP... things should have been handled very differently from the get go! however... i believe in my heart that they do want to make things right... they do want the players to be paid... and they are working very hard on making that happen. If this deal is real and does happen... and we get our $$$... ftp reopens its tables under new management, that works tremendously hard to get things going again,(with the same MTT sched) they will be right back as one of the largest sites in the world. Sit back and watch............... -
donkeytrap - I know alot of people in Europe that would be happy if FTP was back up under new ownership and paying its customers. It will never be available again in the US imo, but the software, game selection, rush poker, and rewards program (+ rakeback) are missed by many. If I feel I can make money there and will get paid out (i.e. secure ownership), I would go back myself as well. I still hate Bitar and Lederer, but if my bottom line can improve by playing there again, I and others I know would gladly go back to play there if the circumstances made sense under new ownership.

It is NOT a Ponzi Scheme. That's the main problem - the media. A Ponzi Scheme is a fraudulent investment operation, which I would not consider Poker to be; whereas Embezzlement is a fraudulent "appropriation of funds.entrusted to your care but actually owned by someone else"

Edited By: wackyJaxon Sep 22nd, 2011 at 09:36 PMIt's [flaming removed] that make the commonwealth state's crime rate increase year in and year out. please stop posting. you're making the great people from our commonwealth look incredibly ignorant. i'm assuming you alos do NOT know what the definition of "ignorance" is either and you will take it as an insult. which i am insulting you because you obv do NOT know what a ponzi scheme IS, nor do you you understand the situation entirely. FTP has nothing to do with why stars has paid out. geeezus you ppl are so tilting.
Why don't you take your little sissy attitude and apply at McDonalds? At least you'd get paid to spit in your rival American's food. You probably live in Harlan county, and only see the sunlight when you step away from the backlashing you just endured while working in the coal mines. LMFAO!
It is most definitely a Ponzi Scheme. Here's why:Originally Posted by DanVee

The investor aka "Poker Player" deposits funds into Full Tilt's online account. Full Tilt then sits on the funds and allows it to collect interest over the next several months. Meanwhile, as new investors join/deposit on the site, Full Tilt pays the initial player's winnings with those funds. Eventually, the scheme falls under it's own weight due to the default in depositors and increase in profits earned by players.
Now, tell me it wasn't a ponzi scheme. -
And all these children talking about never playing on FTP again...PLEASE think about what you're saying before you let your blinding anger take over and you spit out all these stupid, mindless comments. FTP will be better than before under new management. It will NEVER again be in the situation it was if online poker is legalized. Why not support them? Because you're throwing a fit about your 1k BRs? or because you're too childish and immature to really understand what needs to happen to make online poker great again. Here's a big FU to all the haters.
Yes, we already understand the government is retarded. -

i agree and think the sofware, rewards, structures, etc were all top notch and I would also gladly go back and improve my bottomline under the right circumstances(i like money 2). i just think the damage done is going to be extremely tough to recover from if your looking at it from a brand name/value standpoint its name is burned into peoples minds as a big scam , time will tell but yes there setup/clientbase was premium and all i can say is you dont know what you have until its gone. makes me sick they had to run this thing crooked and ruin such a great thing -
Doesn't really matter whether its meets the definition of Ponzi Scheme or not.. Embezzlement, Ponzi-ish ways and fraud to whatever degree, occured and fcukt the site and its player base.I may not have as much interest at stake as some people (that had a sizeable roll online, compared to my measley few hundred), but I still want to see Justice, proper justice, met upon those that committed acts that caused this meltdown and for whatever it takes to make this awesome thing called online pokes safe/regulated and trustworthy. But I also don't want to see your DOJ use this to parade around and banty away that online poker should not be allowed, is fraudulent or fraught with rort or that pokers just gambling without any skill and hence is not a good thing.. (cos it sure feels like they have that view at times). Its bad enough that poker still carries a stigma of illigetimacy and I think thats what GOVT see.. hopefully the PPA peeps get into lobbying (not that I agree with lobbying) the right crowd so that perceptions are altered and support garnered. Whether it means Brick and Mortar casino moguls get dibs on a regulated market first, or there is some mix/partnership between current owners of online sites or whatever, just MAKE IT SO gawdamnit... and stop turning this into some political BS sideshow!!

Never will I play there again, they lied and said player funds were segregated, they started taking our money as far back as 2007, years before the processor problems, there was criminal intent here, this was not just a poorly run business. This was a criminal enterprise
lol, this is the most ridiculous post I have read yet, all they had to do was take US player funds back out of their personal accounts and pay the US players. Then, they could have carried on like pokerstars and continued serving the rest of the world except the US. There is no way they spent all that money, apparently nobody was willing to give it back because these arrogant bastards believe they earned itOriginally Posted by blackberry_jam
