  1. Being from Indiana...this give me some realistic hope. Let's go!
  2. I wish the poker community had a lawmaker hall of fame where we put those politicians who are fighting for Poker on the basis of personal freedom and not to bail out some financial problem elsewhere. Frank would be at the top of this list and this guy Danielson would be there too if I had a vote:

In Washington, DC, Danielson told the crowd that his rationale for expanding poker online was not financial: “We don’t have a budget problem. Our impulse is not to regulate online gaming for revenue. I think that’s the last reason to contemplate it. As technology explodes, I want every Iowan who wants to avail themselves of [online gambling] to be able to do so safely and securely.”

I googled him but I already knew the answer: Democrat.

I don't think this is an issue that is split down party lines, where Dems are all pro online gaming, and all Republicans are against it. There is certainly a a section of the republican party, that are concerned with social issues, and want to project their set of values onto the rest of the country. However there are others, like Ron Paul for instance, that are fiscal conservatives, but also believe in individual liberty.

  4. Living in Des Moines, Iowa. This is really exciting. It has been all over the news and radio for the last couple weeks. They are pushing the issue for sure!
  5. So let's get a non-profit organization that's regulated by the federal government that takes memberships. The members would be the states they would be able to chose to participate or not in online poker. A pandoras box wouldn't be opened because the non-profit sanctions what poker sites would be able to participate based on track record from the members and players.
