  1. The way you secure it from underage kids is by having PARENTS. It will also be against the law for underage kids to play. Going to create problem gamblers??? Unregulated gambling sites of all forms have been readily available for 20 years. The people with gambling problems already found online gaming. Mr. Marnell III should look into banning alcohol at his casinos to protect people from becoming alcoholics.

  2. it's absurd that these casinos say anything about problem gamblers...gambling addicts are their number 1 form of revenue. how often have you heard of cases of casinos giving rooms, drinks, other comps to these gambling addicts...it's ridiculous that they even pretend to care about people.

  3. Because porn and alcohol are truly secure from young children too....

Ban alcohol everywhere in the US outside of Vegas too...

  4. It sounded more to me like our Casino revenu is going down so we need to get those internet player in here to get their rake... it's soooo full of bullshit Like gag said how can a casino chairman can say anything about moral and gambler in the same sentence?? quite an irony from my point of view !! Like if those soo highly moral person dont make sure real gambler addict get a drink or 2 when they lost it all to make sure they get every penny out of their pocket

    +1

How can casino owners talk about morality... they make their living off of ruining peoples lives... oh well they dont see it this way though because they choose not to...
  6. This is an absurd way of thinking in general. We can't be opposed to change as it's that line of thinking that causes stagnation and allows for forward thinking companies and people to take control of an industry and make your company obsolete. The world changes, technology changes 2... It's the innovators and adapters that become successfull long-term not the people who want to maintain their status running the same program
  7. thats pretty funny because if i walked in with 40k and said a loud i have a 40k inheritance and i want to play with it,than i started playing some serious table games, and went on a hot run and turned it into say 350k. theyre not interested in letting me go home and enjoy my winnings, they're going to give me a room, drinks, food......and i am willing to bet that if they did there homework on me to see if im rich ,than figure out i am in there on gambling high and have my life money with me,they're not gonna be content to get that lost money back, they will want it all and i doubt i will get a person walking up to me with 20k left and wanting to talk with me about my 1 week stay and gambling problems. that i should take what i have left and go home.................YAH OK THATS NOT THE REAL WORLD OF THE CASINOS

very true, i can def see online rooms with separate booths and screens for action on their own sites ,plus all the advertising and promos, satty tourneys with seats to live events at the casinos plus all the other ideas that will come to fruition as well

  8. They must be mad ,because Vegas is trailing behind Macao already.
  9. It is the same thing as a porn shop wanting porn on the internet to be illegal. If you are on the stance that all gambling is bad fine but enough with the double standards already.

Its about money... alcohol and cigarettes will never go away because they make too much money... ironic that they are both highly addictive as well.... again its about money not whats right or wrong. online poker is bad until they make a ton of money off it... then its great....
  11. How come there's never any opposition from someone who doesn't have a financial stake in it's defeat. Morality is subjective and can be tailored to fit any situation. This is what's wrong with America.
  12. the casinos must believe they will earn more money without online gaming than with it, whether thats true or not isnt the point.im sure they have ran the numbers and if they were to make more profit with online sites then they would be right behind getting it legalized.they probably know the online business is saturated with sites as it is, and only 1 or 2 sites from the US would blow up. the arguements they stand behind are probably just easy to us.
  13. This guy is such a scumbag....all he see's is his profits going down.
First off like the article says it's WAY easier to fake your age at a casino that it is online.
All you need is a fake I.D. online, you'll need an actually driver license, credit card, etc.

This guy is such a scumbag....he doesn't give a *&%$ about "gambling addicts" if he did he'd just sell his casino and get out of the business all together.
All he see's is his profits going down.
First off like the article says it's WAY easier to fake your age at a casino that it is online.
All you need is a fake I.D. at a casino, which they don't even check to see if it's real or not.
Online, you'll need an actually driver license, credit card, etc. Much more secure

  14. These people are an absolute joke and clearly uninformed on many topics. Lol at him worried about problem gamblers in an online venue. Anyone who has an IQ of 12 or higher I'm sure understands what hypocritical self masturbatory pricks b&m casino reps and owners are.
  15. If You owned a casino in Las Vegas a town that casinos lost $4,000,000,000 in 2011. I would probably feel the same...

So I understand what they are trying protect. although I do not agree with there point of view

  17. Convenient how every single major Casino that isn't well positioned to profit immediately is resorting to a negative stance against online gambling. I understand the want to protect your bottom line, however the reasoning used by both these men is laughable at best. At least have the balls to come out and say your uncomfortable with what online gambling might do to your business model due to your lack of positioning.

  18. Casino owners concerned about ethics.. I smell bullshit.

    $4,000,000,000??........source?

  20. allottta people worth 4 billion these days...lol
  21. Maybe I'm wrong, but wouldn't casinos be able to boost their numbers if online were available? They can run satellites to weekly/monthly tournaments being held at the casino, which would bring in more players, who more than likely would stick around after busting and play some cash games. They can also run satellites to tournaments in series like WSOP-C and the like, which would attract more people to their casinos and have them staying for more than one day/night (thus increasing their hotel & cash game numbers).
  22. kmc in general I think online poker hurts their numbers ------but a big lol to them pretending to be reasonable. They run a business where 95 percent of what they offer gives the customers no real long term chance.

  23. It's the casinos that aren't positioned properly for ipoker that are against it. MGM and Caesars have already partnered with foreign providers. Those other American casinos who have yet to react to this inevitable sea change are the ones that are going to be left in the dust - at this point they are only dragging their feet. Even an idiot can see the truth behind their 'morality' argument.

  25. I always go to the M to put in my sports bets but I guess I ain't going there anymore. Also good to know about the venetian and palazzo, no more business from me. (I'm not a huge better though but if this is their stance than I'll stay away)
  26. " I think you start to create addictive behaviors in the home that we can't see as operators." what he s really saying is we cant see our profits w/ people playing on-line at their homes. typical double talk from someone that will lose a piece of the pie due to lack of foresight. the world is full of opinions and a_sholes everybody has one and most of em stink.
  27. Casinos let Phil Ivey play underage. Looks like they failed there
