Thanks for the support guys. It's been a pretty crazy few months for me as I've been out of poker for years, mainly working in the fantasy sports industry with Riley. Adam ended up taking a job with Protos and staying in poker after we sold the site so thanks to him we weren't completely lost. The current state of online poker for US players is sad, but it will get better and it will be regulated. Hopefully that will only take a couple of years. In the meantime, we've got a strong team in place behind the scenes and will be constantly improving our offering on P5s. I'm excited for the opportunity to take this site to the next level. It's good to be back!

2nd to last paragraph sounds interesting. I like this decision by p5s, too many people lost jobs and money to still be promoting last option sites as if theres no risk

Nice article sir.

Happy to hear that P5's weighs their collective responsibility to the community rather than just milking whatever ad revenue they can get while they can still get it. Kudos -
As long as this site is still up and running I'll be here every day. <3 p5s

keep up the good work guys

Really great to see all the positive responses here. We've been kicking this around in discussions for close to 3 months now - really the whole time since the original team took back over the site. The bottom line for me is that we built this community up from nothing by being a voice from within the player community. We're disgusted by the way our friends in the US have been affected by Black Friday and everything since, and of course we're among those who have had our balances hanging in the wind. We just don't feel it's appropriate right now to continue to market real money poker in the states with things being as unstable as they've been. We hope to see things get better, and soon, so that we can all go back to worrying more about the game and less about what politicians are doing...

i really like this site, it is soooooo easy to get around and find what you want, so much user friendly compared to others....good luck with the new direction

Great site thanks guys!

dept. of homeland security breaks down my fear for me nice and simply, in bright coded colors. maybe since this is a largely an american issue, & given this has been our most popular scale in recent fear-mongering episodes, could you paint us a more vivid picture? should i be feeling yellow, orange, or mountain dew code red? given renewed management, i nominate lenny to concoct such a system, especially given his insider experience on the hill

Just one more place who turns there back on the USA. I'm not sure saying great article makes sense here. Probably will be in a different language soon!

The 2p2 site just got a boost in revenue and in traffic. Not trying to be a jerk here just being completely honest.
remember p5's you were built by us USA guys who have been left behind! -
Good luck Guysa I continue to love the site and cant wait to see what the future holds and hopefully this will rejuvenate the PD section of the site

We are absolutely not turning our backs on the USA. Quite the opposite - we don't feel we can recommend these poker rooms in good faith at this time, and we're trying to protect our loyal members in the states from making mistakes that can cost them money. -
Is this based just on what's happened previously? Or have your interactions with the leadership of these sits (ie Merge) made you feel that something is about to happen sooner rather than later?

Also, along those lines, since you are not receiving any more money from the sites, I'd really like to see P5s take on an investigative role and really get to the bottom of why Merge is still not accepting new US customers at this time. We were led to believe that it was to allow them some time (4-6 wks) to get their financial house in order. Now we're running way past that time and still no answer. I believe some skins have decided that they will not be taking on new US customers at all, while others (ie Lock) have said that its a matter of when, not if.
I'm of the firm belief that there is an underlying reason that these sites are not sharing with their customer base about why US sign ups have been halted, and in some cases, halted for good. Considering the few options there are for Americans, you'd think they'd be welcoming us with open arms. Could it be, perhaps, that they have the very same concerns about the elevated level of risk and by not allowing more Americans now, they are limiting the scope of the inevitable mess that will ensue?
IN any case, it would be great to see you all dig deep into this topic.
Many thanks. -
We don't have any information that you don't have regarding what's going to happen or what's been happening lately. We simply have been evaluating this situation quite a bit lately and came to this conclusion. We're definitely investigating to find out as much as possible about what's going on, though it's not easy to get behind those doors

Never thought I would see the day when P5's doesn't support any US sites. When you guys started, online poker was shadier, and with the passing of the 2005 law, poker became borderline illegal to play, yet you guys embraced the sites and built a monster around them.

IMO, you guys working with and promoting UB after all the stuff that happened is far more in bad taste then promoting merge/bodog now.
Maybe change to Pocketfives.eu ........ just sayin' -
Why couldn't you just create a "Do not recommend" or "Play at own risk" section like most casino forums so that new players can stay in the loop?
And build a SOP for such sites to pass in order to stay advertised?
It is industry standard to protect the people... -
i agree 100% this is hilarious like you guys are taking some kind of moral high ground here

Appreciate the concern guys but the narrow minded republicans in congress are doing a bang up job protecting us U.S. guys from online poker. Maybe in 20 or 30 years our life, liberty and pursuit of happiness will be given back.
