    This is a silly record like the banned ones at Guinness where people can get hurt. If people keep trying to break it somebody is going to get hurt. What are the rules with folding? I'll just sit at a cash table and fold for 200 hours then. Stay awake record is right.

    lol this is spot on. If he doesn't have to think about hands and can just sling chips or fold with no consequences then the record has nothing to do with poker

    really? didn't Phil have to show a profit for his session? Now monopoly money counts? I defy you to find any actual poker player who thinks that play money is even poker.

    I heard to simulate the level of play he would experience in this record breaking sit and go, he played for hours on Zynga to sharpen his game and get ready for the swings of play money poker.No real money, no record.

    I don't quite remember if Phil Laak HAD to show a profit for his session, but he wound up winning $6,700 after 115 hours.

    I thought profit was a condition because anyone can sit and fold every hand for 115 hours and show a loss. Maybe I am mis-remembering, or combining this memory with some of the multi-table bets that I've seen on here over the years.

    I don't think I could do this for even 30 hours. Still I agree with everyone that Phil's record should be the one that stands. This can be a separate record for most hours awake while playing a friendly card game. It is still something hardly anyone would be able to accomplish, even with the help of drugs even though it is different than what Phil accomplished playing for real money.

    2 totally different scenario's. 2 Different records. Having insomnia and addiction to poker I could probably play a sick session under those break allowances but for REAL $? lol no way....LAAK is a nut! 10/20 for that long? And making a profit to boot? That should be a 2nd record in itself.
