Stop talking about me, Fox! Do you view bubble situations any differently in PLO8 than in NLHE?

-

I would actually attack a little more in PLO8 on the bubble, and I do it with a shorter stack. though never with less than 5 BB's because you will get called so frequently that you should wait for a real hand if you get that short. It's safer to attack with 5 to 10 BB's in PLO8 on the bubble because you will get busted less often when you are called. It's a little less profitable to attack with a bigger stack in PLO8 (though still usually a good idea) because people will get hands they are willing to go all-in with more often.

Thx for the PLO8 info Fox. I'm gonna have to get a little more aggro on the bubble. Joining PXF after the new year to take advantage of some of your videos.

Nice job, Chris. Screw the haters. It's a lot easier to take cheap shots at somebody's article than to actually write one.

Another psychological factor to overcome is the sting of bubbling. Even though you know you're doing the right thing by being aggressive on the bubble it hurts when it backfires. Easier to talk about than actually do.

How do you feel about the Rain Khan and Phil Gordon advice to fold into the cash when extremely short stacked on the bubble. They discussed bubble play on the ESPN Podcast in April. Their advice was that if doubling up doesn't significantly improve your chances to win the tournament they would fold to the money. Khan said he would fold AK with 1 BB if he was one spot away from the money.

I was going to write in on it too. If I'm at 2-3 BB's in a very large field I'll generally fold to the money because the chances of winning or FT the tournament are probably less then the percentage I'm winning. Its all about gauging what the percentage of FT and the percentage of the prize pool.
