  1. no offense, but your n of 77 (per pokerdb) rush sng's is not enough to draw any significant conclusions regarding results, quality of play, or anything else. I think 500 is a good number to evaluate
  2. LOL I gotta few more than 77! I agree with you in theory, although I think often you can get a good idea of a certain type of game pretty quickly. No offense taken BTW - thanks for reading.

The only reason I looked on DB is to see your ROI because I'm interested in what is a good number for the rush on demand format. A friend and I have a 500 tourney challenge.
  4. I think Rush Poker taps into the same part of the brain that makes people addicted to slot machines.
  5. Theory sounds solid to me. I find if I play to many games at once I end up making silly errors. Having said that, I'm not that good and don't have the brain power to multi table like the pro,s. Might try a game tonight. Interesting article arthurdog, good one
  6. Good article.
  7. Good read.I also have training in psychology including some beyond the college level. Rather than pinning these effects solely to a heightened state of arousal (which may be true), I think a simpler explanation is that cognition (thinking, brain power, mental resources, etc.) is a limited commodity. When this commodity is stretched we have to adjust. We can adjust in lots of ways, but certainly one scientifically documented effect of the over-taxing of cognitive resources is poor decision-making. Thanks again for the good read.
  8. great read! i'm wondering if taking a quick cold shower every now and again during a session might help. good luck keeping your "heightened state of arousal" with ice cold water splashing all over your birthday suit!
  9. I enjoyed this without ever having played rush poker- I find now that with 8-10 tables my emotions/decisions are good and calm, but if I add certain types of music I can get off my game-just thought I'd add that and see what you thought...
  10. I have no doubt that music can have that impact.
