    <p>Does this mean that federal regulators are going to reissue compliance regulations to the banks?  Because all of my banks told me a month ago they would no longer cash my checks.</p>

    <p>I doubt they will reissue compliance regs.  The law is still in effect its just that banks can't get in trouble if they are found in violation. </p>

    <p>Ideally, this all means that internet gambling legislation like HR 2267 can be discussed in Congress over the next six months and the definition of "unlawful internet gambling" can be sorted out. The hearing next Thursday in the House Financial Services Committee may ultimately lead to HR 2267 being marked up.</p>
