That guys backer prob saved money by him not getting in.

-

Really difficult to say the people who were turned away were somehow wronged when registration for the main event was open "how long" 6 to 8 months.

-

with all due respect, i would have either wired the money out there before i left or registered as soon as i got there. what a waste of time and money

-

I know a few people that were shut out of the main event and I just don't feel bad for them. Everyone knew well ahead of time that day 1D was going to sell out, and everyone had ample time to register. Even the laziest of people managed to get themselves to the rio 24 hours in advance to register. It really wasn't that hard to get into the main event

the fact that 500 players got shut out of the wsop shouldn't be newsworthy. they were lazy and procrastinated. suck it up bitches.

The problem isn't that people got shut out...I don't feel bad directly because of that, especially when it's long-time pros like Cloutier, Forrest or Capt. Dickintheback. There is absolutely no reason they shouldn't have been in a long time beforehand.

But for the casual or backed player, playing in the event or not wasn't as cut-and-dried.

The problem with all of this, which is not excused away by the "they had 6 months to register", is that Harrah's never indicated they were going to close registration, cap it at 2800, and shut players out. Niptuck, WVU and others have told stories about being told "no, no problem, you don't have to register immediately, you won't be frozen out"...until the moment Harrah's froze the latecomers out. The message was inconsistent and misleading.

I think Jeffrey Pollack and the TD have their general shit together for the WSOP. What's missing is any consistency or logic from the rest of the staff.

I have played in the main event several times. I have preregistered online, I have had preapproved cashiers checks, and i have registered with cash when i got there. I don't feel sorry for these people, It is unfortunate, and anyone laying the blame on Harrah's staffers is just misplacing there own frustrations....two words fellas " BE PREPARED"

he definitely woulda cashed and probably won lol

Agree...registering 2 hrs before an event starts that u know is going to be ballz to the wallz crazy and full is just dumb...don't feel bad for anyone.

-

The problem is not that people waited until the last minute...

what if 4,000 people tried to register a week in advance? ... people still would have got shutout. Sure, they could have then picked another day, but so many people can only get out ther on Sunday.

You're a moran AINEC, 100% your fault.

STFU, Take it like a man and GTFO.

1 Star IMO

You could have pre-registered many different ways months before day1A even started, why not just pre-register on teh INTERNEZ like normal people.

-

someone please explain to me how the players could have avioded getting shut out if player A joins day 1d earlier then that just means player B would have been shut out as registration still would have been closed with no warning . If everyone signs up early then that just means it gets shut down earlier. dont have the last day on monday after a holdiay easy fix. all harrahs fault.
