*** SUMMARY ***
So when johnny checked behind I figured he might have a decent Ace or a FD but nothing he was willing to stack off with unless his hand improved on the river. The midle guy I wasnt worried about b/c he had been playing weak since I got moved to the table. When the T came I figured it was a great spot to do this b/c I could esily convince the initial raiser I had him beat... weather it be 2pair or a broad way. What you guys think about this push?
Edit: What hands do you think call me here and what do you think the chance (%) is that I get called? -
Are you only wanting an opinon about the shove ??? Well you answered your own question I guess cause you said based on your "read" you thought they would fold..
What hands call you ?? Well Possibly as low as A9 here considering it was a $10 tourney and still so early.
My question would be how exactly you have a "read" on a player when you say you were moved to the table and the tourney is only 12 mins deep... ? Its a risky play but if you thought they would fold go with it I guess.. GL -
lol I don't think the pot size is big enough for me to make this play, there is nothing really logical that ur representing here. Think about it, you wouldn't be doing this with a set, you wouldn't be doing this with just an A, or net combitination of 2 pair. I mean i think it was just a silly play overally basically a crying play to win the pot. I'm fairly sure after he checks the turn he will not call a river pot sized bet, i would be less inclined to call a pot sized bet on the river with an A, rather then calling the all in which in this situation screams weakness. They might not be thinking players so the all in bet might work the majority of the time, i just don't think in this situation it is really necessary given the action.
Gl at the tables. -
I disagree with the bluff, however there's a bigger lesson to be learned here.
You can't win a showdown, and the allin bet is just as effective as say, 900. If you are going to bluff, save yourself 630. -
Alright...you check/called with your draw...why not check-raise and try to be aggressive early in this hand? Get some money in the pot. Checking the turn and then pushing the river for twice the pot. This looks exactly like what it is...a busted draw. You moved in for almost twice the pot. Personally, I don't think you had nearly enough committed to this hand to push with nothing here either.
If you're going to steal, atleast make a bet that makes it appear like you have something...somewhere around the pot size maybe or 5 to 600? If this is a $10 tourney, you won't get anyone to fold top pair...they think it's the nuts. There are lots of people that won't bet their hand, but at the same time they won't lay it down to anything. If either one of them had top pair, I'd say there's a very high chance that you were called and threw away your stack.
Also, this is the first level...just a little early to get yourself in a spot like this.
