  2. Raise more pre, like $6-7. I'm not folding here. I probably call and re-eval turn with the intention of check/calling turn and river. I think if he pots the turn I might just fold, but I dunno. I feel like his range would be 89 which we're behind, random ace x's, air sometimes and 10j type hands sometimes.

  3. i hate these spots coz the min raise prices you in to call with almost anythin. I probably do what rivverkiller said, call flop, check/call turn or river unless he bets big on turn.
Sometimes just to mix it up I'll min-raise them back, youd be surprised how many times they fold!! though its not exactly optimal play :)
  4. TKTP, OOP, facing a gobble on the flop after raising a few limper preflop with AK.

if you fold to a gooble, you are much too weak-tight, if you check-call, you are OOP for the rest of the hand, and you stand to either lose a big pot or win small one. If you repop, you are committed, and most likely would only be getting called if you are beat. None of the options seems great.

Ok, early in the game, no information, just close your eyes and repop big time. At least if you are beat, when they see your play, they probably play-back less at you next unless they have a big hand beating at least TPTK.
  5. pop it!
  6. hey, thx for all the replies.

raising to $6-7 pre is probably better, but i was just wondering some of the reasoning behind it as im fairly new to cash games. is it because it makes it less likely you have to play against a draw-type hand OOP with AKo? would love to gain any insight from a fellow BCer, especially one with such sick scores.

i dont usually see too much aggression at .5/1, so his min raise in this spot jammed me up with no reads (other then the fact he has 3.5 buy ins on a 100 max table, which indicates villain is likely more aggro then normal, to me anyway).

i was thinking the same thing, flat call the raise and re-evaluate the turn. this is probably a decent line against a standard weaker player at this level, since their min raise range tends to be very polarized, either sets/2 pairs that keep betting strong or weak aces/draws/air that shut down or bet small on the turn.

obv he potted the turn Q (for about $40), which left me a brutal decision as J10 got there, AQ got there, sets and 2 pairs still have me crushed, he has no FE and im left with little more then a bluff catcher and a sick feeling.

if i was thinking more clearly it would have been better to just close my eyes and re-pop to about 30-35 and either call his shove or shove any turn (much more optimal against what turned out to be a very fast LAG player). it leaves me less tough decisions later in the hand, and as u guys mentioned if nothing else it helps build my early table image as someone who can't be pushed around.

  7. I like a flat reeval on the turn. yeah your OOP but flatting here may slow him down on the turn (probably not) as he is 3.5 deep. sick situation but given you have no info i rarely say fold.
