  1. Hey,
My First Post :p Basically I want to make a small deposit of $200 (thread title error) on stars or FT (or maybe $100 in each- thoughts?) and never have to deposit again. Over my first year I could legally play poker, Ive put money in here and there and never really stuck to bankroll rules. Ive tried a couple of times to grind out the micro no limit cash games but I just dont have the patience and honestly never will. So, what I want to do is build a bankroll through tournament play. I have quite alot of experience and mixed success in tournaments, but am currently down online. What would be a good combination of tournaments and SNG's to play? Also, has anyone here had any success with a 'steps' method of building a bankroll through SNG's?

  2. if u run good at the start you can easily build a bankroll playin the 4.40 180 mans on stars
  3. 90 man Double Stack Knockouts on FTP. SOOOOO SOFFFFFTT....
  4. I would not recommend a "steps" method of sng's b/c that would require you to win several sng's in a row and even the best sng players cant do that. Your best bet will be to prob grind like $3-5 sng's and maybe try some mtt's after you've gotten up to about $300.

  5. Are multi table SNG's better for building than single? Also, I want to get involved in some big MTT's right from the beginning. Should I be sticking to around $2-$3 buy ins and below?

  6. i'd prolly withdraw

  7. I started out with $20 on UB, and played SNGs with 20x buyins...

Since the lower buyin SNGs are pretty soft, 20x buyin is pretty sufficient, at least, it was for me. After abought a month i was up to over 1k, after playing 400 SNGs b/c i kept moving up/down as my bankroll allowed....

I wouldn't reccommend playing cash or big MTTs with a small bankroll. Start off with SNGs....read every article you can find, learn ICM, register with PXF and watch sheets give his amazing SNG lectures, and SNGs are very profitable for lowlimit players imo

and i think that playing 2-3 SNGs as a beginner is definitely wayy more profitable than playing 1 at a time

  8. 4.40 180 max x 20 games
with $12 to go for a "Big Win"

imo play small till you get a nice groove of playing and develop your strategy.
  9. Just play the 1,2,3 $ MTT's on stars if U like to play Touneys, Not ideal as far as BR managment goes but if you ary any good you shouldn't need as many Buy ins as recomended. But as far as building a BR goes this will be far more time consuming than playing Cash or Grinding SNG's(Unless U crack a nice score early). I run at 120% ROI on these things and even that is a hard slogg making $$$$'s.
I would suggest to learn cash(5/10c) or grind the 1.75, 3.45 turbo's until u're at a comforable Level with your BR.
I started with $50 with the same Goal as you, 7 months later I've got a 1k bank roll, Silver star and are pretty much free rolling. Its hard playing for such little money early, but its worth it when U achieve what U set out to do.

  10. def 4.40s or 3 dollar 90 man Knockouts
  11. 4.40s absolutely...not only are they soft as hell but youll also get a ton of endgame experience which will come plenty in handy once youve started moving on to larger mtts with your newly padded bankroll.

  12. play 2-4nl til you get to 109 dollars then buy into the 109rebuy on stars

  13. Havnt deposited yet, but used a no deposit bonus promo for CD poker to get $50 (+ a further $100 to clear) free. Just been playin $2 10 handed SNGs 3-4 at a time and am now upto $85, so hopefully wont take too long to get onto $5 SNGs. In the past ive found that $2- $10 and even many $22 SNG's are all pretty similar standard, so I might make a push at the next levels as soon as I hit 20 buy ins. This CD poker offer was awesome btw- for making my first (very small) deposit I then got another bonus + entry into qualifiers for a $50k tournament and the big $2 million tournament.

  14. Play 01c/02c cash games.
  15. Bet it on one hand of Black Jack.
  16. ^ sounds good.
  17. or get a job and put more money on so you dont have to slum it.
  18. I would say FTP. Deposit and get 100% bonus and rakeback. As far as playing, start out with the 2$ sngs and go from there.
  19. With that start up amount, first put all your money on stars.

Personally, I would play cash games because the micro games are smaller limits than FT, more players, and way soft.... but if you perfer sngs or mtts that works too.

Grind your way up and get your $50 bonus.

Then take your whole roll to FT with rakeback and get the 100% up to 600 bonus.

They key is to get your roll as big as you can when you finish your stars bonus to take advantage of FTs bonus.

I did it that way. My BR is now $800 and I started with 50 dollars deposited on stars playing limit holdem only.
  20. I've built a $100 deposit up to a few thousand. I started by 8 tabling the 3.40$ turbo sng's (join PXF or SNGIcons or something to learn how to play sitngo's correctly), also played $1, $2, and $3 tournaments. Not really hard to final table one of those and hit a $100+ score if you play enough of them. Eventually move up the turbos, i reccomend using the 50 buy-ins rule until you get a decent size roll. Anyway thats how I'd go about it :D

Just focus on slowly building it up, don't waste 10% of your bankroll on $10 touranments etc, just stick ot the small ones and work your way up.

If all else fails, go get a job and deposit some of that.
  21. ok this is how you do: play the lowest tourneys/sngos for a while and get some experience first before u move up.
  22. The most money I have ever made was playing over my bankroll. I deposit 50 run hot in some 10 2 tables and run it up to 200, then start taking shots. Eventually get a big payday in a tourny, 2k plus take out 1500 and repeat. I know according to pros this is horrible, however it works if going broke does not stop your income. The reality is if your not a pro, your bankroll is unlimited to an extent. However, I don't do this anymore, I play cash within my bankroll because I was tired of going broke, however i made about 15k playing this way. The only reason i never played within my bankroll, is for some reason i win when i need the money, so i took almost all my winning out. Then i would play like a donkey when i had 1k in my account and 4k in my bank and lose the 1k real fast like.

P.S. I have been drinking with my girlfriend all night and am waisted, however this is all true.
