I have a 10K "poker" bankroll. How high of blind structure should I play if I am a no limit specialist? (I am trying to win 40K in 3 months and return to the mountains where I live)
-
cash or tournies?
online or live? -
if this is all you have, and nothing to fall back on, DON't risk it like I did...i've payed for it since monetarily wise

dowsnwings do happen, and when they do, you get worried and start cashing $ off so you have something to show and all of a sudden you're back to square 1 with a litte spending $ in ur bank acocunt.
stay within ur roll, and don't expect to triple ur roll in just 3 months without a couple MTT scores. I'm not sure what limits of cash games you'd have to play to flip 10k into 50k within 3 months?
I'd say plan for at least 5 months to get ur goal

your answer to your own question sounds like a fine idea. ^^

that depends. Which mountains do you plan on returning to?
If its a mountain range such as teh rockies I would suggest a game that allows you to splash around a little bit to prepare you for the cold waters you may wish to go rafting or kayaking down.
If its in South America, you might try a new game that you can warm up to. Maybe razz or roshambo. etc etc.
You need to train your mind and body for your return home if you wish to reach your goal. -

I have been doing this (playing poker) for over 30 years. (then returning to the mountains)
I fly in to LA, or LV, play 10/20 Blind N/L.
My usual start up poker bankroll is 10K.
My personal cost of living in the mountains runs around 40K with all insurances, licenses, heat, etc.
I make enough in about 3 or 4 trips of poker playing a year, to live the rest of the year in the mountains.
Where I play poker depends on poker events.
Poker tournaments are always Krazy with side games (Bellagio and Commerce) are the best places to play (and only places I play- use to go to Tunica, side games not big enough).
Day in and day out, LA is better than LV, (except when LV has major poker tournaments) for the level I play.
I live next to Denali (Mt. McKinley), in Alaska. Salmon fishing is good right now.
I invest my poker money, owning 5 acres, 3 bedroom House/BB, and 5 rental cabins. -
Can i please have your life with a hydro grow room in one of the rental cabins
