Did anyone watch the first televised event on ESPN where Mike Sexton made one of the worst folds ever? Andy Bloch raised and Sexton calls with 67. Flop is 2 6 8. Bloch bets his 1010 and Sexton calls. Turn is a 7. Sexton bets out, Bloch all-ins and Sexton folds. It was seriously one of the worst folds I've seen. Anyone else agree?
-
In a vaccum it seems like a bad fold. I think bloch played 1010 bad myself more than sexton folding top 2. I don't think Mike folds JJ there but doesn't play it that way, he does 99 and A8. Bloch is likely to get called, after the lead out, by 2 pair, sets, and if mike peeled one with 910 and made his straight. I don't know if Mike thinks that deeply that Bloch is most likely not to be value shoving a worse hand knowing that Mike will likely call.
-
Didn't you get the memo? Sexton is one of the biggest nits out there. He put Bloch on 88 no doubt.

No...my friend told me during the world series of poker a guy folded JT on a KQ9 rainbow board face up when he got re-reraised all in
-
it was a really bad fold, it actually upset me. it cost him the game and definitely the chip lead into final heads up.
why are you calling on flop with 67... obv you want to hit your out a 7 or a 6, he hits one of his outs, bets 400k the turn, gets re-raised than folds on the turn.
very bad read and fold. -
It's a terrible read, but honestly I think the really terrible read is by Andy. Sexton is such a nit it should have been obvious he hit his hand twice. The only thing he's folding to that shove is the 2 pair, surprising he even folded that. Mike's calling with a set or straight. I think Andy's shove is in big trouble most of the time there.
-
it seemed like kind of a weak bet by sexton leading out on the turn so im guessing andy thought his hand was best and that sexton had a pair + straightdraw or something like that
-
These types of folds are why sowerss made the bet he did - Sexton likes to fold obv...a little too much, thats gotta eat you u knowing that fold may hae cost him a bracelett - lots of chips in that pot.
-
wasnt the most horrible fold in the world but kind of suprised that he did. He just played the hand too passively more than anything and that cost him the pot, imo.

this hand did happen, but the board had 2 clubs... there was a big thread on 2+2 about it

This wasn't PLO was it? I can't see how that fold could ever be right in hold'em. You automatically put your opponent on JcTc? lolz
