I've been fairly active up to this point, making a few 3bets and taking them down without any showdowns. Villain is a decent player running like 17/14. I just decided to 3b his utg raise from mp cause it looks so strong. I think pre he's probably 4betting AA and KK, QQ is likely too but he could def flat QQ. Probably flatting all of his pairs JJ down to 22. I would think he folds his pairs under 77 to my cbet. He wasn't the type of player that would float OOP with AQ or KQ type hands.
When he flatted my cbet i felt like he had 77-JJ. hard to put him on 99, JJ, or diamonds considering i'm blocking them.
I check the turn when the 9 comes for pot control and the fear of getting check shoved.
He bets a little under half the pot on the river...i think preflop he's flat his pairs and 4bet KK-AA and probably QQ. He probably 4bets AK but could have a hard time pulling the trigger when i 3b his utg raise. Also would probably flat suited broadways.
On the flop i believe he folds any broadways and small pairs he was set mining. Calling hands like 44, 77, 88-JJ and diamonds.
Turn- i lose control of the hand here, with the FD and top pair can i bet get it in when i may have to draw to a flush.
River- the 2 comes so i still have him on the same range of pairs or missed draw. i can't really see him value betting 88 here, looks to me like he either has TT maybe QQ, busted diamond draw, 77, 44, 99, TT , JJ.
Like i said, the 99, JJ, 44, and diamond draws aren't really likely. So it could be either TT, QQ, 77, or some air hand/ mediocre showdown value he turned into a bluff like those small pairs i think he would fold. My hand is under repped, he never puts me on a 9...My hand looks like a AK/AQ type hand that missed. But at the same time i think he has to have a decent hand to raise UTG, flat a 3b from mp and call a 1/2 pot cbet OOP.
So call or fold river? Bet turn?..could obv fold pre

I think I would call... (missed draw,overpair?)
Edited By: liondani Jan 28th, 2012 at 02:36 PM
If you was so aggressive as you said i think it would be a nice spot for the villain calling you with AA,KK preflop... -
ya i've talked about it with my coach a bit, trying to work more on my postflop thought processes. I think he was right when he said i'm giving my opponents too much credit and under estimating the number of times people will call one bet with two overs or some random hand i beat. Just find i level myself into thinking the villain is playing a certain way to be deceptive when he's really playing that way cause he has nothing.
-
You are basically setting yourself up for this exact situation throughout the entire hand. You should definitely call now.
Villian will most likely c/r good pairs on the flop unless you two have history.. -
I think you have to call for that price. Although you only beat overcards or 88. I can see him pot controlling an overpair or slowplaying a set here, especially I'f you have been as aggressive as you say. For the price you just call here and move on to the next hand.
