Hey everyone just wanted input on your thoughts here......I know it was spewy to call his shove after my 3 bet....but looked him up to see if he may have pushed with a small pair or weaker Ace.......he ended up catching a flush for the FML story...but oh well....First place was $6.3k and if i was right here i would have been ChipLeader with 39 left.....Thoughts?

I might lay it down/ Being that you did a full 3x 3b... but that also might make him think your weak and shove light. So it could go both ways. It's really up to your read of the person.
What a shitty way to get crippled. -
I'm folding there personally... too big of a stack to be hoping he has a lower pp a hand in which you're still behind...
-
Not like I'm in our position often, but I think there are far better ways to play for that much of your stack. At this point, you're most likely either dominated or flipping, and 5/39, there's tons of time left to build your stack. I think I fold.

your 3 bet is way to big...make it more like 37k. Not saying this is a terrible call with the AQ but it makes it much harder to let it go with such a big 3 bet. -
this, not a terriable call, a 3bet of around 35k looks nice. might have folded to the shove myself though...
-
I would have called if it wasnt so deep into a the tournament. But I just think thats not the time to make a stand.
-
I didn't say that it was good just as played kinda thought, I 3b a little smaller also. But all I am sayin is like if he did 3b here a 3x I mean you think he might shove with aj or kq type of hands?

I never really 3x like that unless I know I have the best hand and I know he's going to shove into a silly looking raise like that.
Or possibly fold a hand like aq? -
3b/call >>>> 3b/fold imo.
-
you were also deep enough to flat with position and play the flop accordingly, but obv you have to pick good spots to switch it up like this. personally i will sometimes flat in spots like this bc they rarely occur, its the kind of spot that if he jams you only cover the bottom of his range therefor you dont really know what to do (unless you have reads that tell you otherwise). i dont think its bad to flat broadways with 40BBs until theres like 3 tables left bc then its do or die time aka raise every chance you get.

edit: idk about the 3 tables left part, i'm just throwing it out there, i concider a flat here and sometimes i would do it i'l leave it at that haha. -
def not this, this is really really faulty reasoning... OP I don't like ur 3 bet sizing at all, its way too big. In fact what are u trying to accomplish here at all with a 3 bet? Is AJ calling ur 3 bet? With the stacks this deep I think a flat is a good play here in position from the CO... Given the size of ur 3 bet u priced urself into call, but u are never ahead here unless villain is really spewy.

Thanks, yeah i could def flatted in position and Cbet flop may have just taken it down, or if he shoves on my cbet then prolly woulda been easier to let go.
Thanks, kicking my self now for 3 betting to big and even more for calling the shove.....Originally Posted by herbstreet24
