  1. 5 hands that ended my tourney.... could they have been played differently??
Semi Long post, but just wanted any ideas on the way these hands played out....

These 5 hands happened in order I'll provide some thoughts before each hand, the table had been playing pretty tight not too many flops unless people ran big hands int each other >40 people left

First hand loved to see AA and think I played it as well as possible maybe flat the flop, but with 2 spades i like the raise

Up to 6th in the tourney after the AA hand

This hand was a little more tricky, I had laid down AQ to a 3 bet then a 4 bet an orbit or two before felt the pre flop call was good and didnt think if I paired an A or Q i would be dead then the broadway draw on the turn don't think I could ever call the river shove as he cant be on a complete bluff right???

This hand is were i think i really screwed up when he 3bet me I instantly though PP but small 77-1010 or maybe AQ AJ as some people were shoving light even this deep in this tourney. Maybe I can fold AK here and look for a better spot?? If he does have a small PP i guess i like this flip AQ AJ i have top 5 stack for sure if I win... also the whole time this deep in this tourney I didnt really care where I finished after we got in the money I wanted to make a FT run for sure and had been playing pretty tight only showing down premium hands and 3 betting seldom

I know this is a long thread but just wanted any thoughts or ideas on my play and I think it just plays out the same no matter what you do unless we flat AK pre and fold to a C-bet or not play AK as aggressive.... thanks for any advice
  2. hand #1), 3b preflop to like 35k, definitely don't show your hand

hand #2) fold flop, but good flat pre

    hand #3) standard fold obv

hand #4) u should be making it like 13k-16k at this blind level.. anywhere between 2.2-2.5x is fine. other than that u played the hand fine just UL

    hand #5) fold pre

  3. was about to reply but no need..read that ^

way too deep to flat AA there
don't mind the AQ float but def fold turn
    Edited By: gar2garvin Aug 6th, 2010 at 06:50 PM

  4. did u have any type of plan in that second hand?

  5. Hand #1) You can't be flatting AA to a single open bet this deep preflop, and showing your hand once you lost all value was pointless.

Hand #2) Just looks horribad. Flat calling the big open is alright I suppose, and floating the flop isn't completely dumb, but calling on the turn seems idiotic.

Hand #3) Did not need to be included in the thread.

Hand #4) I believe is an unneccessary gamble. Has there really been people 3betting lighter than AK this late in this specific tournament? I think you're flipping at best and getting called by 100% of villain's 3bet range, making this a -ev shove.

Hand #5) Fold pre! UTG 13bb shoves don't have a lot of fold equity, and I'm not a fan of picking QJo to get it in here. Yes you "ran into KK," but you could've also "ran into..." KJo and been just as crushed.

Nice deep run though! Better luck next time.
