  1. i know there was a lot of talk about them on here when they first popped up and everybody had different opinionson them. But my question is what do you guys who have been playing then regularly think about them?

I know I came in 2nd in one a couple days ago but I honestly dont think I am going to play them anymore because it really does seem like its whether your cards actually hold or not.

I would really like to see them bring back the regular 10 180s
  2. I played my 1st one last night, guy limps for 200, and feels he is committed with 44 and calls off his 2300 remaining chips after my shove.

Someone also typed in the chat "I had full house with middle pair"

There is money to be made in these.
  3. ya if you run hotter than a two dollar pistol
  4. If you are good + play enough = win.

You don't need to be lucky to profit them obviously, if you watch the plays people make in these it's obvious how beatable they are. Yes if you decide to play only 10 of them, you probably won't get a first place...but if you know how to play your stack when the blinds get big, and you play 1000 of them, you will probably get 75 final tables and 150+ cashes.
  5. I've played in about 40 12/180's this month and think there is definitely money to be made in these things. The play is dreadful. Half the field is gone in 30minutes, and you are more or less at the bubble before the 1st break. It's obv a shove-fest down the stretch but still, decent payout for easy play if you can sift through all the garbage.
  6. my friend won 2 of these back to back last night....def $$$$$

  7. you don't even have to run that good to win these. just know how to pick up chips w/o showdowns.

  8. These are my numbers in them. I love them. 1 6th, 3 2nds and 1 win. Some money to be made at these.

  9. ^^^^^^^ Obvious positive variance.
  10. Valid Sample for these = 10,000 games +++

    But nice numbers.
  11. ive played about 25 of them.. the play is rediculous
u have to play very very tight becuz u will get called with ANYTHING
ive won 1, got 4th bc idiot called allin with KJ against my QQ, got 8th twice, and bubbled final about 6 other times
u will fail more often than not, but all it takes is a couple big wins
blinds get big really fast but just be patient, be careful when shoving blinds
ive been instacalled with some unreal hands

  12. ^^^thats impressive

luckyleewon1 posted about winning one the other day, well in total he has snapped off 4 now, including 3 in 3 days with a second place somewhere in there. i truly think he is the turbo sng master, much props sir! keep it up...
  13. I agree I wish they would bring back the regular 10/180's in some capacity.. They could at least schedule one an hour anyway. I know there are bad players in the Turbos and I suppose their is money to be made.. I just dont have the mindset or the skills to play them properly.. I never feel at an advantage in them. Ive 37 of them with 3 7th place finishes an 1 other cash.
  14. I Ft one out of every 10 or so. You just have to be able to shrug off the times where you get sucked out on because there are just so many people that made ridiculus calls. Over time I think they are profitable.
  15. if anyone has sharkscope could you post my stats for the 4 180s and 10 180s. I am really curious as to what they are.

  16. I just started playing these and I love them....sooooooo many horrible players
  17. I have played in aboot 10 of these and made 3 final tables.

I either play ridiculously tight for the first two/three orbits or I find a big hand and OVERPLAY it and double up really fast on some donkey who can't believe their top pair is no good to any overpair.

I play AA, KK, QQ really obviously and a lot of plyrs early cant get away from what they are holding
  18. IVE WON 2 OF THESE THIS WEEK AND THERE IS A CERTAIN WAY YOU SHOULD PLAY THESE.

I HAVE TO SAY YOU CAN'T BE A BETTER PAYOUT OVER A COURSE OF AN HOUR AND A HALF UNLESS YOUR PLAYING HEADS UP.
  19. I've played maybe 50 so far. They aren't that bad...
  20. i cant get a hand to hold or manage to flop even bottom pair for that matter.....no luck in these so far...turbo sitngo masters, PM me some tiippssss, thanks.....
  21. #1 tip: have your hands hold up or catch some flops!
  22. I've played a couple hundred and lost a couple thousand! I love them!
  23. Kinda funny. I am the reason they exist (yes seriously) and yet they have absolutely destroyed me. I'm down like $700 in them. Its messed up, I made like 6 final tables in them in the first weekend they existed, and all 6 times I busted out in 6th place or worse even though its not like I was always a tiny shortstack or anything, I just could NOT win at all when I got the final tables, whether it was due to bad beats or coolers, I always maqnaged to bust out early at the final table all 6 times. If I had just had a normal distribution of two top-3 finishes, two 3rd-6th place finishes, and two 6th-9th place finishes instead of six 6th-9th place finishes, I guess I would be up overall in them, instead of down $700, so that sucks. I think they look like they should be pretty profitable for someone like me, but I can't say I haven't lost some confidence given how hard I've gotten pwned in them so far. Oh wells. I guess I'll just stick to 45-man turbos for a while till my roll is back above what it was before the 180-man turbos came out, and then I'll take another shot at them.
  24. These are quite possibly the best ROI a rec. player can get.
They don't understand variance in turbos so 12 bucks for a 594 payout..
    Lasts an hour and 1/2..
    Sign me up.

Its why the $10 grinders are losing money in these.
  25. agreed for the time invested, it's great.

just have to understand the variance

bfactor, do you think you are like the best mtt turbo player or something? Not doubting, just wondering b/c you seem to have pretty high expectations...
  26. No, I said in my post that I thought I should probly be UP OVERALL in them, I didn't say anything about expecting a huge awesome ROI in them, I just said I figured given what I saw, it felt like I had an edge in them despite losing $700 in a very short span of them. The only reason I figured I should be up overall in them is that after over 800 of the 45-man turbos that I played over the summer I was up like $400 or so off then $3, $6 and $12 45-man turbos, so naturally I figured if I was beating those, I should probly also be able to beat the 180-mans. I dunno why you took that as me trying to sound cocky? Please copy paste the part where I looked like I thought I was a great mtt player... ??
  27. I played one. Remembered why I despise turbos so much. I actually have a good record of cashing in turbo satellites, but I really hate them, because they're just not poker to me. Will never play one again.

Bitter that they got rid of regular $10 180s, since they were one of my favourite tourneys.
  28. ship :P 2more tonight plz
