Assuming the player is a winning player, is $1300 enough to 10-table the $12 180mans without fear of going broke. I had someone tell me 200 buyins is needed because the variance is so high but I was unsure so I wanted to ask here.
-
I would say thats probably cutting it fine. I've played enough turbos to know that variance needs to be respected waaaaaay more. Plus if your 10 tabling and going out in some before the money and booting up more u could find ur br taking a big hit before u even start cashing in a session.
I would recommend that whenever u load one of these u have 100BIs. So even an hour into a session when u start going out in one of ur first 10, u need $1200 at least. So for a starting BR maybe $1500-$1700.
But if u run hot $1200 is fine. :) -
in my own exprerience i would say u need at least 2k to grind these things but i guess that is from 16-20 tabling these i have dowswings as high as 3k. Try playing 1000 games averaging -$3 n see if u want to keep playing, keep the volume high imo. Play the $2.20 until u at least hit 2k u will gain exprerience and will kno exactly what to expect once u start playing the $12. gl
-
i would have a roll 2500 or so. That said I 20-25 table these but play 45s as well which greatly reduce variance, so i might have like 10-12 of each going
-
I recently tried making the jump to these from succesfully playing the $4.40 180s and the $2.20 180 turbos and I've gotten killed. The variance is huge, I'm down $600 on these and the $3.30+ 180 turbos in the past couple weeks. Seeing my roll down to $2600 is freaking depressing. I wouldn't play these with only 1300. gl
-
I did that too, jumped to 12$ 180 mans from 4.40s. In November I played close to 250 12$ 180 mans and profited almost 4K. sick heater imo

Have you tried playing the $12 180's, but also playing the $4.40's and $2.20's at the same time? To handle the variance better.

I've been thinking about moving up from the $2.20's and $4.40's, but I've read 120+ BI downswings in the $12 180's are standard... sooo.... I'm hesitant. -
I think it depends slightly on how much of a winning player you are. The higher your roi, the more cash you expect to make, and the more likely you are to withstand a downswing (because you would likely have more cash after a couple weeks..) IDK if that makes sense how I wrote it so I wrote out an example with basic numbers to make it easy:
Say you play 500 of these at your expected ROI%. (i dont play 180s so idk what a good roi is in these?) and then you hit a downswing
10% ROI = $600 profit BR=$1900
50% ROI =$3000 profit BR=$4300
If you hit a big downswing @ 10% ROI you are more likley to go busto...
I 12-16 tables the 45 mans and I wouldnt do it on less than 200 BI's, so I would think you would want at least the 200BI's to 10 table 180's -
If you are a winning player and don't want to go broke, I would double the amount if I were you. The $12 180's can be pretty brutal when you hit a cold stretch.
-
Congrats man that's a nice BR boost. Luckily for me I'm the exact opposite of that. I kinda gave up on the $12 turbos because I just feel like if you can't get a stack in the first 3 levels (15 minutes) you have no shot. There is more play in the $3 rebuy ones which I've been focusing more on lately.

After making the jump to these $12 180s and $3.30+ 180s I've been a disaster, to the point I've lost confidence in my game which really sucks. In most (not all) cases I'm still getting my money in good so I hope it's just variance. Call it whatever you want, it sucks big time. I'm probably 0 for my last 40 $3+ 180s. Fking pathetic -
I've continued to mix in some of the $2.20s as well, but I had a good enough ROI in those and the $4.40s that I wanted to step up and stay there until I was either (a) ready to move up higher or (b) getting killed so I had to drop lower. I'm well on my way to (b), lol so I may be focusing exclusively on $2.20s and $4.40s. Just be careful if you do jump to the $12s. Players are certainly more capable (but there are still plenty of horribad ones), you just better have some run good or the variance is going to be a hella more than you're used to with the $2.20s and $4.40s. GL man

4k and no less, unless you enjoy going broke
-
Definitely not enough

I have a little shark swimming around next to my name for 12 turbo 180's and still think 1200 is a lil light for grinding these.
-
prepare for the downswing makememaster :). That said, I began grinding these at a time where i withdrew like 2500 of my roll leaving me with 900 as i needed money. and since the 900 was all profit remaining it, so losing it would not affect me, I decided to take a shot and play the $12 180s and won 3 the first day i played them. Since then, im prob around 20-25% roi with 100 buyins being my worst downswing

hahahah good advice- mr. 4 table 3$ 90man KOs on tilt, bink one, transfer money to PS,12t like a god, then never look back. Thats paintballs epic climb to greatness if anyone was wondering.

Id say somewhere between 3k-4k would be ideal. Your going to hit a rough stretch and your going to have to cashout out eventually. Prepare for some swings. -
lol shit u remember that?
