Stayed home tonight for new years, was not feeling well and have not been in the holiday spirit this year. I decided at the beginning of the month (December) that I would try to put in more volume in the micros so I can built a roll up. I put in the most volume of the year for me, about 210+ games in December. I work full time, so that is a lot for me...

I really feel my FT play and or my late play has some major leaks, basically I am reaching out to players that are better than me (preferably micro/mid stakes players) and asking for some help. I would like to know If anyone would mind taking a look at some of my hand history's with me. I am on a training site and I watch the videos, but they are all in the mid/higher stakes and I know as a fact I can't approach the micros the same way, I can in certain situations and table dynamics, but for the most part I don't feel the vids are doing me any justice in the micros...
I totally understand If I get flamed or if no one wants to give me some help, I figured I would ask anyway. I would really like to put in more volume this year, my roll is $1,250 and i want it at $2,400 to play $10 dollar MTT's I am a nit with the bankroll and I feel comfy playing at 150-200 buy-ins. It does not hurt to ask for help and thats why I'm here posting this. -

.... at least i would recommend it
Reason: drunk -
yes, myself and many others in the community are here to help. Post some particular hand histories if you would and we can go over.

You probably heard this - but you need to play SnGs to improve your FT play. Most players make bad mistakes in FT even at midstakes levels.

in low and mid stakes mtts... most players @ these levels are ABC type players... and can be abused with proper aggression and timing... getting a HUD can do alot for players at these levels becuz it can instantly tell u which players are competent and which players are spewtards based on just sum quick key stats like.... vpip$, pre-flop raise %, and 3 bet % to name a few... also when u hit a final table or just b4 u get there make it a priority to look up all ur opponents on a site like sharkscope.com or officialpokerrankings.com.... see which players are winning in tournament play and which ones are habitual losers and are just trying to blind out and get a cash ( these types of players you shud make it ur priority to dominate and push around... as they are simply bobbing and weaving to keep ther head above water so they can get a skimmpy payout from the 4th or 5th spot... what most people forget to do at these levels... is to PLAY for the WIN!!!! make it ur priority... 4th and 5th spot $ doesnt last very long...)

without reviewing any hands thas prob best advice i can give... n gl....
* the best sngs to help u learn how to rape FTs i feel r the 12$ 180 mans on stars ... they r some of the weakest sngs around and u can build a decent roll by just putting in a high volume of those... altho the end of the mtt is usually push fold... u can really llean on the low limit type players by just pushing the issue at the final 9...
Reason: add mtt selection help -
stars does have a lot better tournament selection and better guarantees for micro players. The downfall is that these tournaments have way more runners and with the op having a full time job, Full Tilt is the probably a better site for him. I would grind Stars on off days from work though. Abuse the final table bubble when possible and value bet the hell out of the call stations who can't fold ace 3 off. Op probably l ready knows this but this is info I have. Good luck and keep the hard work up.

this sounds like such simple advice... i got the same advice last year when i was asking the same question on another forum because i had a few final tables but could never close the deal
i thought it sounded like strange advice to some degree because i thought that SNGs played so differently (they do in a ton of ways)... so i kind of put the advice to the side... after yet another disappointing final table finish i finally gave in and took the advice and started playing SNGs.... this year i shipped 3 big field micro tourneys and a 2nd in another... im not saying its only because of that advice obviously, but playing SnGs helped me see things that I was missing before
also obviously playing things like the 4/180s on stars should give you a ton more final table experience...

Just logged in and read the responses, thank you very much for all the input. I received a PM from 2 players who are willing to go over some hand histories with me, which I much prefer over posting them here.
My boss does his annual Christmas/New Year Dinner today, so I have to go and get ready. I will log in when I get back from the dinner and hopefully there is some more good advice. I have not put that much thought in to SNG games as some have suggested, and I do have a account on stars, but I feel the stars tourneys (although they have a good structure) have way too many runners in the micros.
Be back later, once again thanks for the advice, and the 2 guys who offered me help via PM I definitely look forward to some outside insight, which I am almost positive you will be able to pick out some major leaks I may have, that I don't know about... -
