  1. 19 left in last nights 15k 11$ super stack. I've been at the table for about 1 orbit. I've lost 100k in the last couple hands to Auburnfan634 and pemcrt who both had check raised me all in on the flop after flatting me pre. I Was surprised to have 3 solid LAGs at my table in this tourney so I was trying to establish myself as they were just pounding the other shorty.. Generaly was letting me get away with a lot at other tables so I was confident I could steal his button profitably.

    Full Tilt Poker Game #21675016514: Super Stack $15K Guarantee (167004427), Table 153 - 5000/10000 Ante 1000 - No Limit Hold'em - 2:12:31 ET - 2010/06/17

    *** HOLE CARDS ***
    Dealt to pokeher39 [6h Jh]
    Auburnfan634 folds
    fabiano76 folds
    pokeher39 raises to 22,544
    Generaly folds
    pemcrt folds
    cpompeo calls 12,544

Standard open for me (I usually make it 25,500kish not sure why I went smaller this time) with this stack so I'm completely fine with this. Cpompeo flats and I think its the first pot hes played since I've been here.

    *** FLOP *** [9s Qs 2h]
    cpompeo checks
pokeher39 has 15 seconds left to act
    pokeher39 bets 35,600
    cpompeo calls 35,600

thought this bet would work a lot of the time, not sure about my bet sizing but once he called and checked the turn I felt like it was a float as I had given up my last 3 pots where I was the aggressor on the turn.

    *** TURN *** [9s Qs 2h] [7h]
    cpompeo checks
pokeher39 bets 177,171, and is all in
cpompeo has 15 seconds left to act
    cpompeo calls 177,171
    pokeher39 shows [6h Jh]
    cpompeo shows [2c 5d]

He checks fast, turn brings my only glimmer of hope for winning this hand at showdown or at all IMO, pot is something like 122k and i ship in the 180k. Afterwards I'm thinking even though I don't like making bets for over half/half my stack, I think if I make it 95k here it looks like more of a value bet and he snap folds. I was pretty sure there weren't many queens in his range as I felt with our stacks he would have made a flop move on that drawy board and was hoping he had some sort of draw, 9 or pp that would go away on the bubble. Anyways he snaps off with pair of dueces 5 kicker. Soul read I guess. Still had some outs though.

    *** RIVER *** [9s Qs 2h 7h] [Ac]
    pokeher39 shows Ace Queen high
cpompeo shows a pair of Twos
cpompeo wins the pot (481,630) with a pair of Twos
    *** SUMMARY ***
    Total pot 481,630 | Rake 0
    Board: [9s Qs 2h 7h Ac]
Seat 1: Generaly (button) folded before the Flop
Seat 2: pemcrt (small blind) folded before the Flop
Seat 3: cpompeo (big blind) showed [2c 5d] and won (481,630) with a pair of Twos
Seat 5: Auburnfan634 folded before the Flop
Seat 6: fabiano76 folded before the Flop
Seat 9: pokeher39 showed [6h Jh] and lost with Ace Queen high

So, I overall I don't think I played the hand terrible but I definitely think I could have played it more optimally and taken a line that gets deuces to fold.

Is this just an unlucky hero call, or is my line turning my hand face up to you guys? (obv did to this guy)

    Any thoughts/advice appreciated.

  2. I'm amazed at the person calling your all-in with pair of 2's. Maybe I'm crazy. lol - that just seems extremely loose, but to each their own. Everyone can play this hand differently, I would have probably not went all-in, but again that's me. Learn from your mistakes I suppose. I'm no coach, so my advice is just as good as the next guys. lol
  3. well u chose to open the J6 on a steal and felt like u had a post flop advantage to win the pot enough so the open can be fine as a steal obv , now him flattin the with 52 is just ridic , a so called hero call to call on the flop here is just very lucky imo , ur play u chose to play it aggro had a read and really u were right since he did only have bottom pair so cant really say u played bad or anything , this 52 play was ridic overall imo

  4. can the guy see your cards? How does he call that with 2 5 off?

I dunno, I guess my turn shove looked drawy? He still doesnt beat much with the 2 5 though.

  6. callin pre , flop , turn , is all bad imo with 52off

  7. sucks this was your first pot with him, with reads i think checking turn is better as im sure he will hav made crazy middle an bottom pair calls previously and you can assume hes jst not folding 90% of the tym

i shove the turn here a fair % of the tym, but i guess without reads i may jst check bak and hope to hit the flush or j doubt im callin ne bet with a 6 and some good bluffing cards can hit too

betting the turn mayb does get him off but i dont like it, i mean some donks will jst call and what do you do with a brick river with most of your stack in the middle

as others have said crazy stupid play by him, this tourney is mad for donk - reg mix sometimes im on a table of solid tag players and others just full of fish

with only 23bb im not sure i raise here not much post flop play and can easily get committed, prefer lookin for re-shove spots or strong hands

  8. um this play is standard for this tournament. your overshove of the pot IMO turns your hand face up as a bluff/draw. I would not be calling with 52o thoough.
  9. his play is obv very bad, but to be expected in this tourney. pre is very marginal/bad. It's hard to tell pot size, but I think I'd prefer a smaller bet otf which might leave you enough room to 3barrel.

  10. Wow...superuser ftw! Some peeps will just figure they are ahead as they figure you are on exactly what you have. Obv villian is beyond bad, so bad he might not even fold to what appears to be bets for value. I like a bet here rather than the shove just for the fact it looks like you want the action.

    Peace

Doubt we had enough to 3barrel pot was about 60k on the flop my bet was a lil over half pot. and about 125k on turn.
