  1. About two weeks ago I headed up to foxwoods to play their wednesday 11am (120.00), and their 6PM (230) tourneys. I ended up making both final tables, a great day, but the following situations came up and deals were made. What would you have done?

The first tourney 120.00 buy in (100+20), attracted about 73 people or so. So the prize pool was roughly 7,300.00 with the top payouts looking like this(not exact to the dollar but close enough so you can ge the idea):

    2,400
    1,350
    875
    600
    530
    450
    360
    290
    240
    180

Two players were elminated and then everyone started talking deal. Average stack was 92K but In all honesty, everyone had roughly an even stack like 100k in chips give or take 20K....and the blinds were 4k/8k with a 500 chip ante. I thought they were kidding and I was like hahah good one guys and they kept hammering me to chop 8 ways! finally after no one was dropping I agreed and we all took 850 each or so(3rd place money)....

In the 6PM 230.00, almost the exact same thing happened but for double the cash. 70 entries, average stack was 100k or so with the final able been so even....after one person dropped, they wanted to deal 9 ways which was about 1550 each....even though i protested, for an hour and a half no one dropped with several bad beats, so finally we agreed and I chopped 9 ways....which was once again 3rd place money? I was slightly annoyed cause I dont get that much time from work, and I wanted to go for the W but in all honest with the high blinds and even stacks, I saw their point...does this happen to any of you guys live at your other casinos? What would you have done?

  2. Never let anyone push you into a chop deal. You have to decide which option is more +ev for you. Did you have a big advantage over the field? Making back to back final tables I would assume you do. I probably wouldnt chop.

I agree with rocky you cant get pressured... If you feel the stacks are so short you will just be flipping coins then I would deal but if you feel you still have an edge over the rest of the table play it out.

I know what you mean a win feels so good sometimes its very hard to deal
  4. I personally would chop at the blinds levels and avg stack. Seems more like a shovefest at that point. Not to mention, being guaranteed 3rd place prize money or waiting for ~5 or more players to get knocked out. Wow, top 10 getting paid w/ 73 players to start? Thats a lot. Nonetheless, congrats on your day.
  5. I love when people want to do rediculous 9 way chops, that is when i start applying pressure. Nobody wants to play because they think a chop is coming, so I just keep saying politly "lets just keep playing a few more hands".

  6. yeah i mean, there was no room for play of any kind, and short stacks where shoving with like KJ and getting called down by AQ and winning, yes I felt I had an advantage, absolutely, more so in the 120, cause i mean that was a really soft field the 230 not as much, and i looked at it this way, 2,300 for the day, I cant really complain....especially when like the bottom 5 places in both payouts were terrrrrrible.......they only paid 10 and 10th was like not even double your buy in and you didnt even get to 5 times your buy in till 4/5th...so i was like fuck it, 3rd twice is decent
