  1. Is it me or does this show make you feel that Poker is jumping the shark. Connect 4 Event. These guys are talented, but they make me feel like poker is another version of dungeons and dragons.

I'm ancient by Online Poker standard, so would like to hear other people's opinions.
  2. I actually really enjoy this show. Production value wise it's far better than most of the shows involving poker based plot lines (ESPNs TILT ring a bell?).

Is it educational, no. It's meant to be entertainment and for me anyway it's working.
  3. they gettin money..... but they obv aint got any game what so ever .. how can they go week after week and not have fine ass hos goin in and out.
  4. You have money, a camera crew, free food and drink, and you can only get 1 girl to show up?

    How was this possible?

Why are you telling girls it's a connect four tournament? Just say it's a party, for charity, there's gonna be rappers, and young millionaires, nothing else matters.

One of the worst fails I've ever seen.
  5. raiden why u hate on the show each week and continue to watch it?
  6. I dunno, I'd rather poker have a nerdy reputation than a seedy reputation. I like that people are seeing young "math wiz"'s succeed. Alot of people have this mistaken impression of what poker is and I think the show does a good job showing that its a skill game.

  8. Its a reality show you cant just have the camera sitting there watching 4 guys play online poker everyday day in and day out. Thats not the only thing that these guys do. They are showing other stuff to not make it so blah.
  9. I'm sure the editing plays a large part...but watching the show always makes me feel so uncomfortable and akward...they only ever seem comfortable when they are around other poker players
  10. I agree in those terms, my ill feeling is the impression you get from the guys. I have a Math degree(geek??), just feel like they come across as computer geeks at times. Trying to convince babes at the pool to play in a Connect 4 tournament, didn't look too good. Hey, wish I had their skills, obv.

    just my thoughts.

  11. Thanks, all. Looking for this type of feedback. So proud, first thread I started with some real responses.

  12. My point was that the Hollywood crowd, that is at the WSOP and other events which draws the TV and other money, may start to turn away which could lead to a popularity decline. Still have the Jason Alexanders and other celebs playing now, if general public starts to view the game as math geeks and D&D type game, could see a decline in players.

Just my impression. Will stop posting and read now. . .

I don't hate the show, hate on the show, hate the guys, or even hate on the guys.

Most of the problems I've had with the show have been the one episode where they go to the strip club. I thought it was tacky and completely tasteless and I still think Lichtenberg or whatever is a bit of a tool.

I don't genuinely believe any of the guys on the show are douchebags though I could be wrong since I only know them a TV show. I definitely believe that Spike TV being Spike TV make them look like complete tools. If that channel were a person it would have a tribal arm band, a fake tan, a gold chain, and a popped collar.

I definitely exaggerated in previous posts but I tend to do that when I see something as utterly tasteless as going up to a woman in a club and asking her to take off her panties. I mean, I see that as saying, "Hey listen, I'm gonna be on national television, all my friends and family are gonna see this. People I've met in the past, the future, future friends, girlfriends, wives, my future kids, maybe my future employees or employers will see this, despite this I have no shame in just asking you and half a dozen complete strangers to take off your panties, will you be as shameless as I am and actually do that?"

But anyway, the above question wasn't meant to hate on the show. I just can't fathom that he couldn't get more girls to show up despite being armed with a camera crew.
  14. Anyone have a link to episode 7?
  15. I like the show

They are nerds and obv have no social skills what so ever

Ansky comes across as the only one I might be able to be around without wanting to punch in the mouth

The are just rich ass lames imo

cause they were not willing to pay for it and what bitch wants to be around a bunch of uncharismatic nerds.

  17. Raiden dude.. who cares if they asked her to take them off.. I don't get how thats such a bad thing. Are you religious? Your posts have that undertone to them lol.

    ^ agreed
  19. My only problem is that if the "Nerdy" math guy becomes the face of poker, we may not see as much of it on TV anymore. I was feeling like "Is that how I sound when I talk about poker" while watching. Don't get me wrong, I do like the show. I had been getting this impression from each episode, the Connect 4 piece put me over the edge.

  20. Raiden, chill out dude. You come off as a mega jealous douche.
  21. Love the weekly 2M2MM thread. My only complaint is that its too short, should be an hour long so more poker could be shown.

I think 90% of the haters are just jealous douchebags. The guys are young , rich and living a baller life in vegas. Pretty easy to change the channel if you dont care for their hilarious antics.
  22. I have only watched maybe 4 episodes but i think its pretty good. Guys are good at poker, but not so skilled in the ladies part. No biggie.

I think HBO should make a 4 part documentry on some rich young ballers in vegas for the WSOP next year, with money, sex, and drugs. Sure that would be fun as hell to watch, with a little poker here n there.
