1. HAND #1

Setup: 5-handed. Im on the button with average chip stack of ~2400. Been relatively LAG so far. Blinds are at 50/100. Player in seat 2(SB) has been playing loose as well.

Preflop: (9c, 5s) : I raise it up 2.75x BB to steal from button. SB calls to defend, BB folds.

Flop:(2d, 5h, 8s) : Seat 2 checks it to me. Although he has a wide range of hands calling from SB, I don't think there is any reason to believe I do not have the best hand on this flop. I throw out a normal continuation bet of 450 into a pot of 650. Set 2 shoves all in for an additional 730 chips. So now im faced with the decision, call 730 chips to win a pot of 2280 or I can fold and be left with 1690 in chips which is still plenty to work with.

So I now decide to think about the hand. I raised preflop and he calls in the SB so I can figure his range is anything from 66+ to TJs+ to KTo+. The only hands in that range that have me beat on the flop would be 66+. Now if he had anything from 66 to JJ I would expect him to raise this right away on this flop so as not to worry about a high card. So now I believe he either has a PP of 88,QQ+, or just trying to bluff. Since I have been betting alot of pots and throwing out continuation bets often, he may simply think I was throwing out a continuation bet and is trying to steal with something like AT+.

Personally at this point I put him on AT+ and think I have the best hand here.

  2. HAND #2

Setup: 7 handed. Im UTG with a 1k chip lead. Been playing relatively tight so far. Blinds are at 25/50

Preflop:(As, Ac) : I raise a standard 3xBB. Folds around to BB and he calls as the low stack with about 1k chips total.

Flop(6d, 9c, 4d): BB raises 3x for 150. At this point im thinking he has any 2 cards over T, A weak ace(prob A9) or a flush draw. Now, normally I would raise him up in case he has a flush draw...however, at this point im willing to give him a free card so he bets into me again. At most he could have flopped a set but I feel he would check it on the flop to induce a continuation bet from me. So I rule out a set. I decide to just flat call this and hope a diamond doesn't fall.

Turn(5h): Now this card is only scary if I think he has 78 or 23. He is first to act and raises 740 into a pot of 625 and is all in. At first im thinking he is low stacked and was going all in regardless of what he has since I have really not shown much strength in my hand at this point. Could the 5 have given him a set at this point? Really all I can put him on at this point is a complete bluff or pocket 5s or possibly a higher PP.

Right now I am fairly sure he has one of the hands mentioned but just not sure which. If he has a set, im beat. If he has a PP or a bluff im ahead.

  3. HAND #3

Setup: 9-handed. Im on the button with a little bit less than starting stack. Blinds still at 10/20 and I have no information on players yet.

Preflop(7c, 7h): UTG makes a large bet of 80chips for 100 total. One caller and around to me. This is about 1/12th of my stack and I decide to flat call here thinking he has prob AK or something.

Flop(Ts, 5h, 8h): Seat 3 bets 60. Original raiser raises 120 to 180. Now normally I would fold here without thinking about it, but this time I had thought that 60 bet was a weak ten at most. The raise to 180 to me looked like a steal...if he had a monster and got some action to him I don't think he would slow play here with such a small raise considering pot. I strongly think I can make this and go in for the steal raising 200 more to 380 trying to look like I want a call. Both players call. Here I might be in a tight spot.

Turn(Ks): Both players check it to me. Now I never originally thought either of them had a monster so I still don't believe they do. I could check behind them for a turn giving possible draws a chance but giving myself a free card. Or I could raise. With all that action on the flop, I don't think either player would slow play if they KNOW they have the hand won. I have 770 in chips now with a pot of 1550. With both of them calling on the flop it is kind of scary...but the checks on the turn to me show they really do not want to commit any more chips and therefore can be bluffed out or simply do not have me beat.

    What would you do here?

  4. Hand #1 you have 24 bbs and a muck hand i dont think its even worth a steal here incase something like this happens. do u really benefit from the extra 150 at this stage? i think i let this go preflop without raising. as played id bet 340 on the flop and insta fold his shove maybe thats a leak in my game tho

Hand #2 BB bets 150 into a 325 and has 740 left behind?. of course hes gonna shove the turn if u flat call so put the pressure on him and try and take the pot down on the flop by raising him because you have the best hand unless he has 66 99 or 44 of course but is he good enough to bet out with a set?

Hand #3 on the 1st level this is just spewin chips fold preflop all day everyday for me. unless your gettin in for the 20 get out. as played fold on flop to that action its the first level unless you have reads and alot of hands on both players how can u lable the bet as weak and the raise as a steal when both have invested 100 preflop

    Just my thoughts

  5. Hand#1: The way I saw this was what hand could he possibly have where he would checkraise on this flop? Am I honestly to believe he has a high PP, in which case I still have 5 outs or ~20% to improve. I have to call 730 here to win a pot of 2280. If I win this hand, I have a dominating chip stack. If I lose, im still not out. Now if fhe called and hit a set, I think he would minraise me being a $20 tourney so I wasn't real worried about that either. The only thing that makes sense to me is a bluff or a high PP. I thought the risk vs reward here would warrent a call. This was my view on the hand.

Hand#2: I agree with you on this hand I should have known he was all in either way. Should be easy call any day. As it played out I called him all in and he shows off 96o for 2pair and a blank on the river so I lose.(no this is not why i posted the hand). I am just wondering if I could have known he had me beat here?

Hand#3: It may be "spewin" chips but I have no prob outplaying my opponents on a flop. The only read I have is this is a $20 tourney . Each player has plenty of chips left and has no reason to go broke here without the nuts. Looked like an easy steal imo. Maybe I just thought too much on this one?
