  1. I was in KC a few days ago and played some 200NL-man it was pretty easy!

One hand came up where I wonder if I played it bad and didn't get enough out of it.

    $200 Effective

Few limpers-I'm in the CO with QsQc and raise to $14 ( I just raised the last two pots and won with a c-bet).
The BB calls and the guy to my right calls and is all-in for $8(lol).
    TdTh3s flop pot($36 in pot)
BB leads out $14, he is a tight-passive player, I call
    Turn Qh ($64 pot)
BB leads out $24, I think for a few seconds and just call seeing that is the best card in the world
    River Kh ($112 pot)
BB leads out $54, I shove for about $100 more over top of that
BB thinks for a while then folds

He folds a T. Now I figured that he had a T after the flop and turn leads. Should I have raised the turn or was it just the worst possible river card that came for me?

    Thoughts?

    Thanks!
  2. i dont think u played it bad personally. maybe if u pop the turn a bit he calls looking to fill up but if he is that passive u have to value the river to get paid, but if he is that tight/passive he might still fold cause he must of had weak kicker. idk just my opinion bro but i think u played it the smartest.
  3. hes tight and passive and hes leading into u, thats tells me hes got it, raise the turn and get it in.
  4. If you really believe he has a T after the turn lead why aren't you shoving the turn?
  5. he sounds like somewhat of a thinking player so imo your hand is face up as a big pp after your flop call, so when he leads into that big on the turn he's def trying to get value with a ten. turn is def the time to raise, i think theres a pretty good chance he has a ten and at this point its gonna be almost impossible for him to get away from. imo ur lucky to have even gotten the $54 on the river, as this was the worst possible card for a ten. he just has such an easier time paying you off of the turn, and its gonna be really hard for him to put you on qq.

  6. Yeah obv if I knew the K (to make the straight and flush and possible boat) was coming on the river a turn raise would of been the ideal play. I just think the river was such a bad card for me.

  7. As pretty much everyone said, if he is tight and gets bet off that many flush rivers then jam 100% of the time on the turn

if you are going to take something away from this thread, i think this should be the lesson. when you put somebody on a big hand, whether it be the flop or the turn, prob more often the turn, and you pretty much have the nuts, the vast majority of the time that is when you need to get the money in. you dont win money off of good players who are suspicious, ESP on the river, and you need to realize how many cards will kill your action.
