On average how many buy-ins does it take to win 1st in one of these OR cash equivalent to a first place finish (aka 3rd + 4th + 4th)
I know a good 45'er is ITM about 17-22 % so......Im thinking like 12-14 buy ins for a first or casheq.? -
You realize this all depends on your skill and ROI in this game...And also variance. You can go on a hot streak and win 4 in a row. It just all depends. Kind of a vague question to ask that can't be answered.
-
I do realize this. I guess I am looking for outside of the box thinking...idk , might not be able to be answered like u say

how many buy-ins for break even player?
how many buy ins for a winning 45'er , someone like adamsapple or rounder63?
how many buy-ins for a losing player? -
If i knew what first place paid I could help you.
A break even player will average 0%~, so take first place divided by buyin
A winning player who averages say, 15% at the $26 level is $3.38 profit/game. So take first palce and figure it out
A losing player say -10% (or -2.60 per game) will be the same thing, except the number of times will obv. be less than both the winning and break even guy.
Mess around and put in whatever ROI you want and mess with the numbers. -
^^^^^^^^^^
this... figure out the roi you want to use to come up with how much cash you will make per game. from there you can figure how many games it will take you on average to reach your goal -
14 times to cash for 1st place total makes you a donk
-
This is an odd question and if you're trying to figure out how you can structure a bankroll to play these you're prbly thinking about it the wrong way.

However I do have an exact answer to your question. For me its one win per every twenty-five games on average.
I've played 1,070 of the $24/45 mans on Full Tilt and I have 43 first place finishes. Simple math says I win 1 in every 25 on average. Here's the data:

But this doesn't take variance into account. Simply saying, "You'll win 1 for every 25 you play" is completely misleading. Nobody just wins one out of every twenty-five they play. I've had nasty streaks where I don't win one for over 100 games but then I win like three in a row.
So getting back to my point in the beginning, if you're trying to figure out the proper bankroll to play these with let me just make things very clear for you through my experience with them:
Absoutely no less than 100 buyins.
And this assumes you're already a winning player and can maintain a 30%+ ROI in them. If you don't think you can maintain a 30%+ ROI then you prbly need 150 buyins.
Hope this helps. -
Thanks to everyone that replied. Based on adamsapples results it took him about 12 to 13 games to reach $410 which is 1st prize money. This includes the buy ins for each round...$24+$9 per game , is about 12-13 ...thanks again
-
There isnt that much varience in the 45mans 30bi is plenty. The structure is preety good to play a tight solid game, if u r having more than that downswing u need to drop a level
-
No, 100 buy ins minimum.

lol at 30 bi, this is the most absurd thing ive ever seen on this site, also adamsapple19 appears to be super solid (and im sure he is) but 1000 tourneys isnt a good enough sample size to really know your true roi, so even this doesnt give you a decent tourney/win ratio.
That being said anywhere from 1 to 200 tourneys for a first.

Have fun when the variance starts and you have to get people to ship you monies. 962 tourneys is 2 weeks fool. You would think with your success you would have a decent grasp on this. Maybe you are like me and just need to play 10000 tourneys before you truely have respect for variance and how brutal it really can be.

LOLOL what kindve question is this? P-A-T-H-E-T-I-C look at OPs names in his profile...seriously biggest douchebag on p5s and thats saying ALOT...constantly trolling the site too. What a tool.

adamsapple is dead on, but i have to talk about variance, 60-70 BI w\out a first are very possible. You can catch alot of top threes and get unlucky with one hand a couple of times and boom. You only win about 17 BI with a first place so there are serious swings in these if your multi tabling, the combination of super strong regs and super weak satallite players make these great but high varaince. Learn who the pros are and I really have to advise at least 100 BI roll. Grind the $10's until you have 1100+ and take anything over that to the 26's.
-
i've won 56 in 2149 games, so thats like what, 1 in 38? and i'm pretty dec in these
by the way adamsapple, who besides you has a +30 ROI in these with a big sample?? +20 is really good in these, +30 is absurd unless you are 4 tabling or something. You're suggestion that you need 150 BIs if you aren't +30 ROI would basically include everyone. -
not sure what my roi is in these...pry pretty good but id say i win 1-12 and play them on quite a frequent basis
edit nvm just checked my roi is only 22% on these
i know that if u win 1 otuta 15 ur break even :) but play in these has gotton much better rounder is def a beast at these id look him up or u can pm me n id be more then willing to talk some strat -
rounder63 is not that good, he just plays them a lot, his roi blows
