I was browsing their schedule and came across this tournament, sounds pretty sick
2 day event Saturday October 9th, and Sunday October 10th), 50k starting stack, 40 minute levels
http://www.playatrock.com/
I've been living in Florida for a while, do the poker rooms in Seabrook and Rockingham have tournaments like this all the time? -
broll me, where the fk in Florida are u living? n Why aren't you over @ my house now?
-
the last 2-day tournament at rockingham (2-3 months ago) got around 400 players and had over 30k to 1st. seabrook ran essentially the same tournament on the same day and got around 140.

this saturday rockingham will be the only venue hosting a 2day deep-stack though so I've heard they're staffing up and expecting ~500 players. the buyin is $250 with $50 going towards the rake.
edit: seabrook/rockingham used to regularly get 200-300 ppl for their monthly $250's but it's died down a lot recently and the ##'s are closer to 50-100. -
This is the second 2 day they've ran. It should prob be a good turnout, probably around 500. See you there if anyone's going.

Bird- do you know if they played that last 2 day with ante? IIRC they play a lot of their tournies with just ever increasing blinds and never introduce antes, but I haven't been there since Rock and seabrook ended up being run by the same folks... -
yeah i believe they start at 400/800 with a 100 ante.
-
50k chips but they start at 400/800 with 100 ante? That doesn't seem like a rip off to anyone else?

Edit - Or did you mean they start antes at 400/800... because that would make a lot more sense. -
the blinds are 40 mins, and based on their other $250 mega/deep stack tourneys i'd say their structure is something like this.
25/50, 50/100, 100/200 (150/300 maybe) 200/400 300/600 400/800/100 600/1200/100 and on and on. Pretty normal blind structure, missing a couple levels big time tournaments have, and ante's start a little late. This tournament should be very winable, as the players are are almost as bad as they get. Most table's wont have a decent player at them. -
the rake isn't that bad as one poster suggested above. i can't remember the exact number but when i ran the numbers it was comparable to mohegan or foxwoods.
the rock doesn't run these big ones regularly, but they got some decent tournies. I'd go more if i had the time. as for the edge for players such as bankroll its gotta be huge. I feel like I have an edge in these every time i've played. lots of degens up there, horse junkies etc.
have fun, i'll be working :( -
They are expecting about 500 players this time. I went to the seabrook version of the tournament last time. Great structure. Alot of fun to play.
-
The seabrook version got about 120 runners and paid about 8 thousand for first. Im pretty sure the rock version went so long on the second day they forced a chop like 20 handed. Pretty lame.
-
mb ill go splash a few chips around in this nicely structured live event.
-
wowww , this tourney sounded so sick till i read this , can anyone else confirm?? force chop 20 handed??? ughhh

Not true. I believe it was around a 4 way deal they made for diff. amounts. Most tourneys pay around 12-15% of the field in NH. -
I'm pretty sure I'm going to be playing this. GL to all who do.
-
pokerduude u should try to get boosh there. haven't asked him if he's going or even knows about it.
