  1. I dont usually play the bigger tournies (i'm medium buyin player) but lately i've been playing satellites and winning some seats, and I plan on continuing to play these bigger mtts in the future.

Both of these hands I have top pair and a big kicker, but both times I talk myself into folding and figure I have to be beat. Even in my medium buyin tournies i dont like to go broke w/ top pair this early in.

So what do u guys think? Am I playing to cautiously or are the folds ok?

  2. whenever i play up i run into the same problem... i'd love to hear some responses... I'm usuallly passive as well, but last night I played the 100$ 20k gtd and after Q45 flop ck/r all in from some guy who was playin his hand strong and he ended up showing Q9... I think when you play out of your bankroll you give people too much credit.. Not saying those are bad folds tho.
  3. Seem super weak-tight to me. Do you think everyone always outkicks you in every hand? Also, it was the same player - maybe he just noted you down as weak-tight and is attacking weakness whenever you enter the hand.

You probably won't go bust on either of these hands, so why are you so afraid to showdown?
  4. 1st hand Check Raise? Probably good laydown.
    2nd hand Dont limp ever.
  5. not a bad limp at all.
  6. both seem like pretty standard folds to me, no reason to go broke with top pair not even top kickers. Id just keep an eye on him these arent too week tight of folds just you being cautious.
     1
  7. first hand fold, second hand all in
     1
  8. Agree 100% w/ 1st hand fold, 2nd hand shove.

  9. ^^^^^^^^^^^^
    What they said.

1st hand there's too much to beat you. The str8 hit, two pair, set, all possible hands.

2nd hand not so much. No str8, the only set that makes sense is 6s, QQ or 99 prolly raises pre. Most likely he's either raising a weaker Q or draw because you folded hand 1. Time to stand up.
  10. well murf, like I told you last night I bet she was playing you the second hand, but you folded anyways. Cautious yes, but what kind of hands are you waiting for to get your money in the middle. We all cant wait for monsters or get our money in 90% of the time. Like just sick said time to stand up.
  11. It's interesting that both of these hands are up against the same player. Maybe because of your fold on hand 1, he thought he could raise you out of the pot on hand 2, with garbage.
  12. Look at the bet sizing
