and if it's high.. how can I exploit it.. should I 4-bet bluff the player more often -
MTT's or cash?
In mtt during the early stages, the 3bet% would generally be low. Later on as players become more deep stacked the 3bet percentages may rise respectively.
In cash, the 3bet% can vary widely between players. I've had players on my right who just will not react to being 3bet a lot so my 3bet can be 20%+.
If you only 3bet AA - JJ and AK then your 3bet% will be something like 4% depending on if you actually get those hands during gameplay.
- There are a number of ways to respond to people who 3bet a lot. You can get it in light with them e.g. 4bet and call a jam with 99 or something to let them know you will not be pushed around.
- You can become very tight and wait for the nuts. So when you do 4bet he hopefully thinks you're tired of being pushed around and levels himself.
- You can trap him by not 3betting earlier raises and calling with hands like JJ+ so you can 4bet him when he squeezes.
-If he likes to barrel you can call down.
A lot of it is player dependent. I was assuming the player who is 3betting you is on your immediate or close left with this advice.
