  1. No reads in particular. I remember 4 bettor timebank it pretty hard, then shove.

    What should I do?

  2. level??? 5handed = snapcall, villain has 25 BBs = snapcall

plz snapcall his range doesnt even have to be loose for this to be a snapcall. even vs a range of 77+, AQ+ ur a flip. so call plz
  3. i fold. if the 4better folded id prolly 4bet allin or call but that move just looks too strong and he never shows up with AQ there.

so ur either racing or dominated. also you have to worry about the 3bettor, why shouldnt he have a monster.

dont burn ur stack away with AK. foldaments

  4. i don't like folding AK 5-handed but..............................

    really tought spot.

  5. really tough spot without reads. the hands u wanna see are AQ/AJ and these are both pretty unlikely with the action before u. most likely flipping or has the same hand. i prefer a fold but calling is OK.

  6. flipping at best. your most likely dominated. i have no problem folding ak here.
  7. Flipping at best - and at least one of your outs is probably in the 3- or 4-better's hands. Dont know if I could find it at the table, but I think this is a fold.

  8. really depends on reads etc, but without any, if i am tpcubed, i'm probably shoving TT+,AK, so, if im you, i'm folding. If you have reads that these guys are 3 or 4 betting light you can loosen up obv.

  9. you only have 3.8k invested - its a fold for me.

Unless the table action has been bonkers and you have fairly good reads - i think it is a fold - but it sucks -esp when they both flip AQ!

  10. wow i misread hh i thought u were the 3bettor and EP raiser 4bet shoved. wow another player 4bet over another villain's 3bet. that said his range is prob TT+, i fold.
  11. Damn....

Brain says fold as I'm sitting here NOT playing in the game but if I was at the table playing, I'm not sure I'd have the ballz to fold (even thou I suspect some of my aces are in other hands).
  12. my buddy heckled me for folding in this spot yesterday with AK, though it was at a full table, my raise was utg, the 3 bet was from utg +1 and was very small, and then someone 4 bet. i quickly folded since i didnt feel like losing half my stack with 40 people left and they tabled Kk and QQ. sometimes guys just have to have it. in this situation, it definitely felt like one of them had at least JJ+

sorry to hijack thread but just curious downbylaw, whats ur play if folded back to u if it was only 3bet small by utg+1 and action folded back to u??? smoothcall or 4bet?
  14. So you raised from cutoff & the button folded, SB went for a re-steal & the BB pushed - he has a hand (maybe) but enough to make AKo a good fold with the 14,150 3-bet in the pot? I don't know, I think you have to re-push to drive out the SB - risk 5th for a real crack at first. Unless the SB comes along and takes you out you'll still have some FE left even if you don't beat the BB.

    my 2 cents

agree that 5handed AK is nearly unfoldable, but your "make a run at first" is irrelevant as i am nearly 100% sure this is a 6max tourney and the OP is deep but not at the FT yet

OK - Still SB looks like a re-steal & BB has a hand mostly - Sure either or both can have As/Ks, and it will happen sometimes, it IS poker after all :) But with the SBs bet in the pot you still have to try to isolate the BB. The overlay to a race is monster :)
  17. I dont think I can fold this. I had been active, SB could easily just be trying to resteal - although his raise looks kind of committing. Basically I snapped it, b/c the majority of the time I have over 33% equity and there could potenitally be a lot of dead money.

I'll post the results in a bit

im sure i woulda convinced myself to ship it in, but i also woulda felt fine just flatting. i know nobody likes to play AK oop, but i much rather would play a small pot in a spot like that than flip at best for half my stack. the only hand i wanna see turned over is AQ, and the rest is either a big gamble because I don't ever expect a guy to fold to a 4 bet shove there. my buddy said i was being results oriented, but i've been playing the game long enough to realize when theres probably at least a QQ playing. i had only invested about 2500 of a 60k stack, so I just didnt see the need in calling 2 all ins there when everything tells me theres maybe a 50% chance im flipping against QQ and JJ, and a 50% chance im up against at least QQ and other pairs. I don't ever expect to see AQ from either of those players the way the hand played out
  19. You can't fold this 5 handed on your stack everr, just cause your flipping almost always doesn't mean you shouldn't get it in here.
  20. Bax would fold and Below would call you a pussy.
