  1. Villain is a regular who plays maybe 6+ tables at once. My question is, am I supposed to fold pre? I was thinking that even if he has AAxx, they are probably bad aces and im not that big of a dog. I also dont think he has to have aces here. I think getting it in here isn't a mistake but wanted to make sure that its not a leak in my game.

  2. I just typed up a really long explanation of why you misplayed the hand, but P5s amazing new board technology ate it as the thread was being moved to this forum. Nice work. I'll try to type up some cliffnotes when I'm less tilted.

  3. Why on earth are you reraising pf? That was the first mistake. Then you call the all-in re-reraise after villain only called the first raise, which fairly hints at aces. Now you're pot committed without even seeing the flop. Second mistake.

What type of hands do YOU reraise preflop in this situation? is it only AAxx?

  5. Ok, I'm less tilty today. Let's try this again.

Your 3bet is bad only b/c it makes the other player pot committed if he 4bets, meaning your 5bet is ineffective and if you cold call his 4bet, You'll be getting almost 3:1 on a flop so you'll probably be sticking it in on any flop.

That's bad b/c when he 4bets, he's telling you that he has AAxx. You lose to AAxx. He showed down a hand that is about the worst hand he could have here, and he's still got you 60/40.

These are things you have to be aware of when you play PLO. Is it good to 3bet to find out where you are/build a big pot to take on the turn? Absolutely. But you can't just blind pot if that means that if HE pots you are in a tough situation.

Put another way: you aren't winning anything preflop in plo. You don't want to get it allin preflop in plo. In plo you should be using the preflop betting round to get information on other people's hands, and either building a decent pot to make your bets on the flop/turn meaningful, or trying to keep a pot small in case you have to call a couple bets after the flop.
