  1. Hey guys!

Long time since I've been active here, but recently renewed my PXF-membership and finally think mtts are fun again.

Last night I FT'ed the $24+2 $42k guaranteed on Full Tilt and had a massive chip lead only to blow it and go out in 6th.

The players were mostly bad and passive with a couple exeptions (latam and fummelegk). I had been extremely active stealing a LOT from three tables and in and probably had a loose image with the players paying attention.

My game plan was at this point to sit tight and let a couple more players bust before applying pressure from my stack. However, I apparently forgot this for this hand. Fummelegk had 3-bet me once already a couple orbits ago, but last time he only made it 150k. After I started chillin he took over as the "table captain", stealing lots preflop.

Is this a really dumb spot to be 4-bet shoving? Or was I just unlucky to meet the calling-part of his range?
  2. His 3bet size literally says "I'm not folding."
  3. eh i dunno about 4-bet shoving with a9 here. seems like with stack sizes his ~4X raise is super strong. maybe next time try and 4-bet shove some hands that play better against his calling range? dunno this is something i struggle with as well

I probably misread his raise, didn't really think that it was nearly 4x my open, I just saw that he still had 900k and a solid stack if he folded combined with 3-4 shortstacks at the table waiting to bust.

As for the hand choice, what kinds of hands would you suggest? I think that Ax hands are better than 78s-JTs because the latter are more often "completely" dominated by TT+ while Ax will have 3 pure outs against the complete calling range (minus AA obv). In addition, holding an ace reduces the chance that villain has AA, AK, AQ which are often 3-bet-call-hands.

  5. his 3bet is so big it really looks like he's not folding. If he had 3bet this much last time, i don't mind 4bet shove. he either has the hand or is trying to apply pressure to you since you've been active.
