This is a typical in-between hand. I made my flush, but the boat possibility is out there. I'm sure my opponent has at least trips. and has been playing rather tight, especially on the river. A ten is a pretty common card to be in a full house hand. My question is this : Do you 1) Fold, 2) Call, or 3) Put him all-in for his last $9k (approx.)???

Flop (board: 5h Th 3d):
KOMIJENDO checks. ShipItThisWay checks.

River (board: 5h Th 3d Ts Qh):
KOMIJENDO bets $1500 .... -
4) min raise

Push because if he hit his boat he might of checked wanting you to bet or bet like 400
-
either push or smooth call, unless he has been playing incredibly tight i dont think folding is an option, especially heads-up. And min-raising is definetly not an option b/c if he shoves then you are prolly screwed, but might justify a call b/c of all the money out there. I would prolly lean towards a call, also cuz your flush isnt that high.
-
btw shipit you should do these more often, great idea if you thought of it, makes for very interesting discussion.
-
i don't know what i would do, but my money is on you pushing.
-
He is basically making a pot bet. There is 3k in the pot after his bet. You have a low flush and there is a possiblity of a higher flush and a full house on the table.
1500 for 3K in pot makes it seem like he wants you to call, and you should want to! But to push or go over the top. Only gonna get called or ai from someone who has you beat.
To me there is very little logic to pushing or folding. Call and play on! -
push, maximize your profit, you have the best hand more times than not here
-
call is the only option
-
obv call
-
fold -- no way.
any kind of raise: is it bound to be a +ev move? I hardly imagine it will be. how many hands could he have that call your raise that you have beat? trips (prob? I dunno - you did say this guy is tight... a smaller flush, pretty damn unlikely) how many better hands does he fold? again not many -- maybe a slightly larger flush? he is tight, so maybe?
call = reasonable option.

Definitly just a call. The big bet on the river probably means that he's either bluffing or he's got you beat, there's no point in raising because you don't want to have to call his all in with just a 9 high flush. There's a decent chance he might have trips and no FH but it's just way too risky. I've seen a lot of players, myself include raise on the river here, only to be smoked by a FH.
Another question for shipit is do you think this is definitly an auto reraise if there were no pair on board and same betting sequence? I would probably reraise, but I'd be really pissed to see him come over the top in that scenario. -
raise is out of the question IMO
it is fold or call. I imagine I would call, especially since there is a higher than normal chance of him bluffing because he would expect you to normally bet the flop with a flush draw, and therefore probably doensn't think that you have a flush.
I feel kind of off/uncertain in this analysis, in the past I have had an idea of the game state and what both players are doing, but I don't really know how either of you are playing so I am kind of just pulling this out of my ass. I always like my info and reads. -
Well I did what most of you said you would do as well. I think there is a chance he would have called all-in, and very likely a raise to 4k or so. I felt like his bet was big enough.
ShipItThisWay calls.
Showdown:
KOMIJENDO shows Tc Ks.
KOMIJENDO has Tc Ks Th Ts Qh: three tens.
ShipItThisWay shows 9h 8h.
ShipItThisWay has 9h 8h 5h Th Qh: flush, queen high.
Hand #30823728-3998 Summary:
$.50 is raked from a pot of $4600.
ShipItThisWay wins $4599.50 with flush, queen high. -
Interesting. He definitly did not put you on a flush. A reraise definitly would have put him in a very tough spot, but I think most solid players would be able to get away from trips there, although he could make a frustration call. Regardless, I still think you made the right play here. He simply couldn't put you on a hand at all and figured he was value betting his trips.
-
you both check which puts you both on draws or him at-ak possible flsh same as you.
the river is a pot bet 1500 for 1600 pot so coin flip he has aq spikes q or your dominated.
call at best but not raise unless you are willing to push all in if he re pops -
Personally this is what i'd do...
I'd put him on trip 10s and push him all in...
If you lose type "bs rigged" and leave the table and withdrawl all of your money off the site and vow never to play online poker again.
Then go to pocketfives.com and read some inspiring posts and come to your senses that online poker isn't rigged and you just took a bad beat.
Redeposit the next day and run bad for the next 2 months because of the cash out curse.
Thats just me though, probably the reason i'm not playing 50-100 no limit also. -
lol? goofball
-
I dont see any reason to do anything but call here? If you put him in, he certainly isnt folding the boat, and hes probably not folding the higher flush either. Youre getting 2:1 on the call and you seem to think he has a 10. Well, Q-10 is the only hand you could be worried about because he sure as hell isnt playing T-3 or T-5. I just call there and probably win the pot. Because you call his $500 bet on the turn with nowhere NEAR the odds to hit your flush, he probably doesnt think the heart helped you and thinks his T is best.
*edit* just read the rest of the post..guess I was right :-) -
Other scenarios
- If you're KOMIJENDO and hit a QT boat on the river, what do you do?
- If KOM bets $3500 on the river, what do you do with 98hh? -
shipit i have a ?.....if you only play 1 table at a time why do you feel the need to sit at all 3 50-100 tables?........
-
maybe so he could switch quickly if another table gets juicier?
-
the cashout curse is real!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
