wow, I can't believe people are making a living playing poker. I am 18 and just started college and all I do most of my time is play poker. I want to be pro and make a 6 figure income. everytime I play in a freeroll tournament, my parent alway yell at me and tell me to get off and do my homework. But I won't gave up my dream on becoming pro. So could anyone gave me anyadvice on how to make money online playing poker?
-
yes i am very smart at math and I spent all the time i have playing. And I wait until the last minute to do my school work. I been playing for about 2 month now. I won 1st acouple of time in 27 sng play money. I also won some freeroll that got me acouple of cent. but i think i am improving fast
-
But since I lost all my play money, I am spending more time watching those big money tournament which last over 6-8 hour. I think that help improve my game alot.
-
be less obvious with the multi accounting attempts.....
but id say honestly, you just need to do less schoolwork and play more poker if you REALLY want to succeed -
I am smart at math, but i suck at english since my parent speak vietnamese to me all the time. Any advice on to beggin my pro carreer and quit school?
-
oh your asian- then you might have a career ahead of you.
-
It all came to my mind that this could be a career when i saw ' alesanre ' on PS playing 45 sng $55 buyin. I watch the guy and he was playing like 8 sng, over the past 6 hour of watching the guy, he won over $3,000. wtf
-
stay in school ffs
-
No no no no no! Dont even think about quitting school untill you've had much success and been a profitable player for at least a year... Play when u have time but dont let it affect ur school work. I know I'm the wrong person to say this, but the chances of actually making it are SOOO small that u gotta be realistic and make sure u have a back up plan if this isnt for u. You'll know when the time is right.
-
whatever you do DON'T quit school, make schoolwork your priority and play poker in your spare time
-
find a friend or groups a friends and pool all your monies and knowledge, and see where
that leads you.I think this might be a good approach. good luck. -
I do want to stay in school but after getting like a 3.4 gpa in high school. school become so boring, i only go to college because my parent made me.
-
leveled
-
Dont be a fool......
Stay in school -
not to completely switch the subject, but take classes you find are interesting and genuinely want to study and it won't be so boring
-
but my degree in school is undecided, I wanted to be a business major but my dad want me to major in mathamatic. thats why I don't know what to do with my life, but I also like cars and want learn how to build a car, but my dad says no.
-
tell them you have no qualms with putting them in a 3rd tier nursing home, that should change their tune
-
Do what u want to do- be a business major it overlaps with some math courses and its where the $s at
-
gpa in high school really doesn't mean much except for what college you can get into. but even if you can't get into the shcool you want out of high school, all you gotta do is go to community college for a year, reapply to the school and you'll pretty much get in. high school gpa means nothing now. College gpa means something as far as getting a starting job (as per what I'm told). I forgot where I was going with this...
But yeah, stay in school. Freshman and sophomore year are a breeze. Junior year gets kind of a lot harder (at least for me w/accounting). And now senior year is pretty damn hard as I'm sure next year for my masters will be...
But really, there's still PLENTY of free time to play poker, drink, party etc.
I would never trade my college experience for anything...best time of my life so far (aside from the studying and going to classes). -
acually, i took intro to thearter and i enjoy that their is this hot girl in their but that class is torture because u have to act in front of people. But I think I am smart enought to get by school with a passing grade even if I don't try.
