Are they more profitable? and should the same bankroll rules apply?
-
It depends on your style of play. If you are more aggresive I would suggest the 6 handed and if you are more tight I suggest 9 handed. I would have a little bigger bankroll for 6 handed.
-
Si do 6 handed for LHE(when HU not avail) and 9 handed for NLHE. 6 Handed anything is more profitable if your very aggressive IMO.

im a decent NL tourny player and i pretty good limit player, but i wanted to try and make the jump to 6 handed NL. I play pretty agressive, but not super LAG. What limits do you suggest that I start at to get a feel for 6 handed NL?
-
I disagree, if you play the 6 handed tables you are playing with the aggressive players and it negates your style IMO. I don't like the 6 handed tables at all. The real number that matters is the percentage of players that see the flop, not the number that are sitting down, unless of course you are really short handed in 3 or 4 handed.
I'm so tired of limit hold em online, as I agree with others that lower limit 3/6 and 5/10 is basically idiots hitting each other in the heads with sticks and then never folding to the river with Ace high.
My experience in LH, NLH I'm not for sure, but the % of players seeing the flop is what applies. The less the percentage, the more aggressive you can be, but if you have more players, the stronger you hand has to be and has to dodge a lot of bullets. -
the more players seeing flops equals more money for you, plain and simple, its doesnt matter if your aggressive or tight. If you cant capitalize on this you suck
-
Yes, I'm not disagreeing with that. But unfortuantely the more players in the hand, the stronger your hand has to be, you'll either be getting huge scores, or huge losses. If you're like me and not a fucking luckbox and have to steal everything because the deck doesn't smash you in the face, then the less idiots you have to weed through the more small pots you can pick up.
-
one of the key to short handed cash games is seeing the right % of flops. Most players at the lower limits, especially those not used to SH either see way too many flops(because its SH, they have to play looser obvi) or they play too tight(have not adjusted much from full table).
Once you figure out what your starting hand requirements should be, and approx what the ideal % of flops seen is then you should be ok. -
all donkeys at 6's
-
I prefer 6 handed, just because it is hard to be bored at 6 handed games. And they are filled with donks. Either everyone thinks that they need to wait for premo hands like in a full ring or they are playing 27o because it is shorthanded.

whats a good % of flops to see?
