Hello,
So I am playing a tourney tonight at a local casino and the overall level is ok... I was wondering what strategy should I use early on the tourney... Usually the tourney is about 40-50 players so should I start tight or 3-betting alot early on? We get about 5k chips and blinds start at 25/50... also, what hands should I play early on... for example is 108suited playable early on? -
Tight early until you have a chance to see how your opponents play. Play in position and strong hands.
If it's a local event, there will not be many hands for each round of cards. Starting with 100bb's and doubling every thirty minutes from 25/50 is like playing a turbo online. The tournament is to get customers in the door. The other players will be there to gamble. They will not be folding their good hands pp or their favorite cards. It's landmine city in these promo events.
