andre5252: (30 bb stack) raises 2500 to 5000--I stole from this guy a lot r and shove 12-20 bb sized stacks and he had seemed sooo passive with his stack; seemed tight -- or at least tight callign ranges for the past 1.5 hrs
scissordude: (25 bb stack) raises 15000 to 20000---v little info, he had been quiet since I rem him comign to the table

Is this the time to fold? a mid pair with such a small stack?
  2. Maybe you can get andre to fold as before, but scissor's in there for almost 35% of his stack; while I don't know the player, if he's at all typical, ain't no way he's going away after taking things this far.

Dump it.............you'll make, or find, a better spot than this. In effect, you're just calling off with 88 here, cos you have zero FE.
  3. Agree with previous poster. You're better off open-shoving something like J9o than getting in with 88 after a minraise and re-raise.

What is critical in fold/shove mode is the fold equity you get, which diminishes with every action preceding your hand. Your actual hand is of course of some importance -but not the overriding factor. Since in this case you don't have any fold equity it is -EV to push here IMO.
  4. I *did fold* the hand and I did so with little reflection -- it seemed like an almost no brainer at the time.

But then I got to thinking that maybe I was being too risk averse? Sure you have basically 0 fold E, but there is a somewhat reasonable chance you have a coin flip, and with such a small M you need to take risks.

If I had 1010 I probably would have shoved, I think, and JJ+ for sure I would have.

    Anyway, ty for analysis!
