    Please help us in remebering the hard work and dedication from our nations firefighters. Join our Charity tourney to benefit the National Fallen firefighters Foundation. Tourney can be found on UB/AP at 9:11 pm est under the special tab.

    Buy in is 1+9 with $9 going directly to the foundation and $1 going to the prizepool.

    dTm...considering the subject here...It's tacky to bring such childish comments into a serious matter like 9-11. Grow up and bash me in another thread...please leave this one for the purpose of raising money for firefighters that just might lose their life saving your sorry ass someday.

    Hey Y'all I organized this tournament. Susie was kind enough to assist me with some things and she Posted it here for me. Let me tell you WHY I organized this and would like your particpation.

    A bit about me, I am a Volunteer Fire Captain. I have been involved in the Fire Service since the age of 15. (I'm now 42)
    The morning of September 11, 2001 I was standing outside of our dispatch center, talking with several other firefighters and one of our department Chiefs. Our dispatcher came running out of the room telling us that one of the World Trade Center Buildings was on fire, and that a plane had hit it.

    We all thought it was a Cessna or a Piper. When we entered the dispatch center we walked in just in time to watch the second plane hit the second tower. It was at that time I realized our Nation was under attack. Knowing what I know about fire behavior, building design, and aircraft, it wasnt long before I made the assumption that one or both of those buildings would come crashing down.

    I had to drive to my day job, and go to work, ( I was working as tech support for a Houston Internet Service Provider at the time) My boss got zero productivity from me that day, and I kept telling everyone that there were about to be a LOT of firemen and civilians killed, because those buildings weren't going to keep standing.

    When it happened, I just sat there, shocked and hurt. For the very first time in a very long time, I bowed my head that day and prayed to God for the families of the victims and for my brother and sister firemen in New York

    Most of those firefighters entered those buildings that day knowing full well that there were very high probabilities that they would never leave alive, yet they went in anyway.

    You see that is the spirit of Firefighters, Police, and our Military in America. We commit our lives in service of others, and if it means that our lives must be sacrificed in order to save the life of another, then so be it. THAT is why I want so desparately for the memory of September 11 to stand so high in our lives, not just because of the terrorist attacks, but more for the example of the undying spirit of freedom and selflessness that my brother and sister firefighters demonstrated then and continue to demonstrate each and every day.

    IF you can play in our tournaments tonight, then please, by all means register, and enjoy yourself. IF you cannot play, and have the means, then please I beg you to register and just walk away.

    my father is a fire chief and my uncle is also a firefighter and even though i wont be able to focus on this tourney all that much i'm more than happy to signup. kudos to you for organizing this ogreman and you for helping susie.

    This tourney is on two separate networks. RioPokerPalace, and UB/AP. All of the funds will come to me. After that, depending on the significance of the funds, we will either mail a check of the FULL amount to the NFFF, or personally deliver the proceeds, hopefully with some press coverage with the PPA and others.

    THIS IS NO SCAM, It is fully intended to be even bigger next year. We hope to get satellites to a full blown Main Event on September 11 in Vegas next year.

    Didn't UB handle the AAUFA tourney this year at the WSOP which ended up with them basically insulting the winner before he even picked up the money and it resulted him donating his prize to a different charity of his choice.

    I would love to see the actual contributions after all is said and done and confirmation of the receipt of them.

    Not saying this is not on the up and up but I get a little bit skeptical of charities and what admin expenses might be involved... It says 9 dollars is going directly to the foundation but its obviously not it is going through a 3rd party and that is UB.

    Sorry to put my 2 cents in here but it's how I feel. You may also want to consider advertising before the night of the tourney...
