  1. So I've been grinding 6.50 9-max turbos on stars and am trying to improve my game, but am not sure what to do next. Here are my stats:

    over 350 games: -2.1% ROI ; 37.11% ITM

    Finish detail:
    1. 10.76%
    2. 11.33%
    3. 15.01%
    4. 16.71%
    5. 17.56%
    6. 13.31%
    7. 8.5%
    8. 3.97%
    9. 2.83%
To improve my game I've read HOH1 and HOH2, The SNG book (exact name and author escapes - it's effectively intro to ICM), Advanced Tournament by Slansky, and a few other less memorable books. I've also started using SNG Wizard for my last 150 games or so and when I review my hands I typically find 2 mistakes per tournament (usually folding when I should be pushing).

Any advice on what I can do next? Is the sample size way too small?

    Thanks for any input.

    ~ Fritters
  2. I would say....

    1. Too many 4ths, play to make the money in a SNG.
    2. Study up on ICM and push/fold play on the bubble.
    3. Talk to Jennifear.

For a similar sample size, here are my stats:

    <table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"><tr><td class="xl24">1st: 49 </td></tr><tr><td class="xl24">2nd: 49</td></tr><tr><td class="xl24">3rd: 34</td></tr><tr><td class="xl24">DNP: 218</td></tr><tr><td class="xl24">TOT: 350</td></tr><tr><td class="xl24">ITM: 37%</td></tr><tr><td class="xl25">ROI: 8.4%</td></tr></table>

The rest will take care of itself.
  4. Your main problem is that you don't have enough first places. Your ITM the money is good at 37% but to really make some money you need first at all cost.

Also agree your bubble boy too often and do talk to Jennifear. I did and it worked wonders on my game.

To give you an idea of what I mean over 475 games my ROI is 17% and ITM 32%

difference is that my finishes are way different to yours

    1st - 63

    2nd - 38

    3rd - 33

    4th - 34

    5th - 35

    etc

  5. From your stats, it looks like your main problem is the bubble play, and you aren't pushing enough. You also may not be extracting enough in the early going when you hit a powerful hand. It's also possible you aren't pushing enough SB vs BB and heads-up.

    Screw with this, A LOT:
    Nash ICM Push/Fold Calculator

SNG Wiz would help you a lot.

    Hope that helps!
  6. Thanks for all the advice - I'll continue reviewing my play with SNG Wiz and mix in some 4 handed quizzes. I feel pretty confident with my high blind heads up play and have gotten more aggressive in SB v. BB situations as well.

And just so I'm not missing something here - am I correct in assuming that the Nash ICM P/F Calculator preforms the same calculations as SNG Wiz (only difference being SNG Wiz allows dynamic player ranges while the calculator uses ideal ranges)?

Maybe I'll be able to find the time this summer to get myself on official lesson - sounds like it would definitely be worth it!

  7. where do i find my sng stats for the 6.50's i play? sngshark doesn't tell me since i am not signed up and OPR does not show these stats? I am very curious to know my 6.50 play as i have been playing them for around a month now.
  8. I just track mine in pokertracker. I think you can get similar stats from sharkscope.com but need to be registered to get most of the good details. Someone might be able to post yours for you though...
