  1. I am dealt 99 in EP within the first 3 hands of ministep2 on party. No reads yet. Whats the correct play? Raise? You really dont know where youre at with this... Folding seems bad. Calling seems bad as well, if you get reraised, then what? This is tough. HoH says you cannot raise with 99 in EP (TT or higher), so whats my play?
  2. Limp like a pimp.
  3. I would autofold
  4. I like to limp junk pairs when the blinds are low. The payoffs are often great when you hit and you don't lose much money if you have to fold.
  5. limp
  6. Because of the unique structure of the ministeps i actually limp in with anything but AA or KK. I will limp even with 22 cause your set almost always results in a double up on the ministeps 2.

I wouldnt completely follow helmuths book, it wasnt written with ministeps in mind.

  7. how are you finding out where you are at by raising with 99 UTG? let's say you get called, the flop is T 2 5 and it's two spades, and you have red nines. what do you do, bet then fold to a raise? you have no idea where you are at if you get flat called, but you find out for the price of 3-4xBB bet preflop if you are beat already when someone reraises. limp, fold to any big raises, and hope to flop a set. just calling isn't a mistake in poker like many people for some reason think is.
