A3 vs A7 on button. Preference ?

    Just debating with a friend which you'd rather have. He say's A7 because 7 is obviously better than a 3. I disagree and said A3. If you hit a Ace with either hand, you have a terrible kicker are probably way behind. With A3 though, you get no kicker but an opportunity to flop some straight draws. Thoughts ?

    You fail to realize that the highest straight you can make with A3 is an 8 high straight. With A7, you have all of the straights covered up to Jack high (which is a pretty good straight if you don't mind me saying.)

    A7 wins in BOTH instances!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
