Live $350 regional tournament hand.
Villain has limped a few pots, raised one (cbet and took it down). On one hand he limped 55 and then sb folded T2 and flop came 2TT. He bet the flop and took it down. He's in his late 20s/early 30s. Dressed relatively nicely.
I've only raised one pot pf and took it down (button steal). That was only hand I've played.
Blinds 50/100
Villian is UTG+1, I'm to his immediate left.
Effective stacks are 10k (starting stack).
Preflop: Villain raises to 300. I 3bet to 850 w AcAh. It folds around, and he flats.
Flop: [Tc8c2d] He checks. I cbet 1100. He calls.
Turn: [Tc8c2d][7d] He checks. I bet 2400. He shoves. What do we do? Call or Fold?
I'll wait for a few replies before giving my range that I had him on as well as the results. Feel free to critique my line up to this point as well. Thanks in advance for helpful replies. -
given your position, i'd raise to 1k PF. however, your raised didn't get any additional callers.
UTG villain raised 3x and smoothed call. AK, KK, QQ, JJ, 10s, maybe 99, 88 are possible.
His action looks like over pair- KK, QQ. not everyone reraises with KK PF any more. the flop and turn was safe for him, so he makes a move on turn. I'd call and hope pocket 10s don't show up. Double up early or go home...mercier style!!!!!!! -
Raise more pre, you do not want more callers. I think you play you hand pretty face up, so my action depends on how competent I think he is. If he seems competent I fold, but then I am nitty this early. There are a lot of live players who might seem loose pre-flop, but they make such moves with at-least 2 pairs, etc (or in this case set).

I think you gotta get those chips in. a little rough you have Ac cause then i think it's be an even easier call adding AKcc AQcc and such hands to his range. as played i think you either put him on a bluff, set, or overs. you beat 2 of those 3. sucks going home early but then again there are points in every tourney where you gotta double it. i say go big or go home here. gg wp or ul on the way.

I would say he never flips anything other than 88,TT,JJ,QQ,KK. With his postflop action, c/c then the c/r, i would be very nervous of the flopped sets (I think he leads out with an overpair). However with the pot at ~14.5k and only ~5.5k more to call I'm never folding.

I indeed called. He flipped over J9hh. Glad I'm not the only one who doesn't ever put that in his range haha. Onto the next one.
I think ATdd, 77, 99, or JJ-KK take his line the most though, and that was my reasoning for calling because I obliterate that range. If he flops a set I have to believe he c/r's to protect his hand on this board. -
Hmm r/c with J9 UTG+1 preflop, sounds like a donkey. Think there is any way you can play this differently? I mean a c/c on the flop by villain is standard for a draw, but it is pretty hard to think that flop gives him straight draws with the range i give him.
I would say that a little more of a raise preflop with several left to act would be acceptable. But then again its tricky. You want to iso, but you also want some action. Bigger bet preflop either scares him off, or makes him have to commit more of his stack on the flop if he is looking to draw. -

I prefer to flat AA to an early position raise early in a tournament. A lot of player will try a squeeze play and they'll never put you on a monster . You can sometimes get they're full stack if they have JJ+. But your reraise is fine as well.
So there's 1850 in the pot and you bet 1,100 into a huge drawing board. I'd rather see you bet closer to pot. Your getting called by JJ+ and any str8 or flush draw so you might as well make them pay. Everything else they're going to fold regardless of your bet size.
So the turn is a 7d which should be a slight scare card since he may of had J9s. At this point you have to start thinking that if he's good enough to check the flop and turn and shove to your turn bet with a set. Your going to have to go with your read at this point.
