  1. I have came across this issue fairly often. Either multi-table or single, I get AA UTG in the first hand where the blinds are typically 15/30. I will raise between 3x to 5x the BB, and the majority of the time over half the table will call. Then, I have to fold the flop with the amount of people who called or make a tough decision. Or, I try to limp, hope to get a raise then to re-raise, which also rarely goes my way. I know most of the people in the micros don't take into consideration the BBx bet and just look at it as 90/1500 stack.

As of right now I think going for the limp and hoping for the re-raise is the most profitable for me so far, is that the best thing to do in the first hand of the game?

Does anyone have any tips for success in this specific situation in the micros?

  2. always difficult to play AA early position and early in micro MTT's. I like the line of limp re-raising. Know exactly what your saying about opening to 3x and getting 5-6 callers, unfortunately just one of them things you can't. Just dont be afraid to let it go, which alot of people can't do. GLGL

This may seem ridiculous but it is true in any buy in below $10. Particularly in SNG's when ppl can just fire another one up right away. It's amazing what you get called by.

Seriously. I have seen this done in a tourney for $75 and he got called with TT.
Don't remember who did it but it was a very high ranked player.

  5. Open jam AA first hand of a micro MTT (with large field) is probably a decent move. People may just think you gamoooling and call off with 99+, AQ+, sometimes worse. Might as well go for it all?

exactly what I was thinking...you'll get called with garbage and double...sometimes....
  7. Open jam I think is the best way to play it as you are jamming for value especially in a micro, you will be surprised with what people call and show up with lol

When I first read this I was thinking no way..but I would rather open jam get called by 1 player possibly 2 instead of raising 3xbb-5xbb and get called by 4+ players...
  9. i would think that open jam will show much more of a profit than limping and hoping for raise in micros. that or i may just like 6x vs randoms first hand utg.

  11. I follow the line of the posters here :

If the first or second hand, I open jam as fast as possible.
If I already saw a couple of hands and :
    - At least a Villain reraised in every hand => LIMP SHOVE
    - If the are tight => OPEN JAM or OPEN BIG (like 10x or so at 15/30 then shove any flop)
  12. Aww tons of people beat me to this. It's fun to open jam w/ it and get called by 99/AKo/67s.

I used to do this a lot on tilt's 90 man 3 dollar KOS and it worked a lot! I miss those things. Were my early money makers.
