about to get my dell e1705 done up, any suggestions?

    I am getting ready to order my dell e1705, and was wondering what sort of upgrades/ customizations people would recommend? I am going to get the monitor upgrade True Life UXGA blah blah blah.. I really know nothing about computers, and any help with this would be appreciated. ty sirs/ma'ams

    make sure you get the best deal. Last week they had 750$ off if you spent 2k+, 500$ off if you spend 1500-1999 and 250$ off if you spend 1000-1499. I ordered mine last week, havent gotten it yet but got the e1705 with true life, upgraded video audio cards, much more. expecting it late this week or next week.

    umm make sure u get a gig. of RAM im pretty sure that comes standard. Yea and def. get the tru life so u can 4 table w/o overlap. i upgraded the processor... the 1.6 is probably enough but i upgraded. And the upgraded video card is unnecessaary if your comp. is gonna be primarly for online poker; it doesnt give u better resolution as the standard one...

    Definitely take advantage of the $750/$450/or $300 off deal. The site will configure the system with a 22% discount, the $$ off is a better deal (not much better, but better). Use math/calculator to figure out the best possible deal. If you add some upgrades and get close to a price that gives the next discount level, add anything that is cool that also gets the price up. As far as which options to add, memory and hard drive size are always a better value when buying the computer than trying to upgrade them later. GL.

    Pleas note that the price levels are without the 22% discount, so don't gage by the price reflected on the system configurator page at dell.com.
