Ok, first of all, I will not be revealing my source for this ever.

I met with someone last night who is an employee for UB/AP and what I found out from this conversation confirmed some stuff that was out there, but also brings to light some of this stuff from the insider perspective. I will try to highlight the conversation.

1. Scott Tom had atleast 5 or 6 accounts in his name, including some of the ones that were called into question.

2. These and possibly other accounts were in action and cheating players for atleast 4-6 months.

3. AJ Green, a longtime friend of Scott Tom's, was seemingly flown from the US to Scott Tom's residence by Scott Tom to log in more 'super user' hours. He also said that it seemed that AJ Green was getting the wrap for something he was brought into, not the mastermind of.

4. The hand history sent to Crazy Marco, was in fact a mistake, the employee who sent it was a new employee and didn't really know what he was doing. It was not an intentional send as some of us had theorized by an insider who wanted to let the cat out of the bag.

5. He confirmed to me that Mark Seif was one of the bigger investors in AP, and indeed a part-owner. Though he also thought that Mark Seif probably did not know what was going on at Scott Tom's house.

6. He also said that Scott Tom and AJ Green and the rest of their crew were shady people in general.

On a serious note...Gank, thanks for posting this. It's really very scary that this had been going on for atleast 4 months (if your info is correct) in that there is really no way to tell how much money was stolen from the online community in that time.

What's even scarier, is that it took a fluke mistake to really prove that something was going on. If Scott and AJ had been a little less obvious, this could have gone on for years and years without something happening.

IMO, this is a serious blow to online poker. While I think the bigger sites like stars and FT do as much as possible to offer a fair and honest game, when there is technology and money involved, there is always going to be somebody looking to get rich off of it.

I hope anybody who was involved in this dies a slow and painful death. In the meantime, I'm interested to hear what else comes out of this.

Before this got to big someone posted about Mark Seif seemily cheating in a headsup Game. Mark was getting clocked then said wait a minute.....came back and said Now I'm ready for you!!!

how does abso no they got all his accts and he dont have more then 1 super user acct, i no if i had this access id have about 10-15 cribs sets stackin just in case 1 got busted id still have many to fall back on, forsure he had to no if he ever got busted an they backtrackd his play they would check IP alsos just my thought i no i would have a fallout not to lose this hustle if i got busted, not to metion maybe he has anohter super user acct never used that he was saving for later if this one got poped, on that alone i can never play abso again nor trust or take serious anything that dork mark seif says or does

You haven't provided ANY proof that your statement above is nothing more than speculation. I feel posts like these are an injustice to the p5's community. This information is no more trustworthy than what we read in the National Enquirer.

A blow to online poker is an understatement. Let me ask the forum this: How do you know this exact same thing has not gone on at Full tilt or Poker stars and other sites? Can you say for sure it has or hasn't? I think not. I'd be willing to bet that some collusion and cheating has gone on, at one form or another, on every single site. Where there is money there is corruption. I've lost the trust of online poker in general, and how these popular online players continue to throw big money at it is beyond me, unless they are themselves cheating or colluding. Maybe this is the reason the U.S Gov is not down with the idea of online gaming, because of corruption that they will have to police at taxpayers expense. Is there a way to curb what has taken place at Absolute? Prorbably not. Somebody will always have access to critical data, no matter what. What kind of security clearence do these poker sites have for these people, nothing? anything?. I'll play the small stakes online but the big money goes to live games where things are much more closley watched.

Actually pretty much all of what gank wrote has been independently confirmed by several sources as documented in the very lengthy 2+2 threads on this topic. there is very little doubt that it is true.

I actually have never played on Absolute, I just am very vocal about people who I feel wrong other people, especially in an industry that I have expertise in and understand well.

I often find myself looking out for the best interestes of the game, even if they dont fully coincide with the best interests for gank, meaning, being vocal about a situation is not always the best allocation of personal resources, from a personal perspective, but for me, I feel the overall good outweighs any of those reasons which may prevent other people from speaking up and being passionate about a subject they feel strongly about.

when this story hits dateline,20/20 or americas most wanted that's when
you'll see the most damage.The so called groups against on line poker will take this
"flame" and spread this proproganda about how "shady" on line poker is.
Not good.Not good at all...this is why there is so much hate directed at AP.
