Actually live high-fived somebody after jamming yesterday

    Didn't care much for it, felt like a dick to be honest.

    I'd been playing live all day and was in my second tournament. Blinds are like 200-400 and there are 5 limpers or so. I have about 8k and 88 on the button. Indian student to my right says "God, no more limping please", and I jam.

    He shouts 'That's what I'm talking about!' and I ask if I can get a high-five. Of course! We high-five and no more than 3 seconds later, the BB snap-calls. Ah, fuck.

    Best case scenario is he has AK, and thank fuck he has. A couple of people folded Aces, so he's drawing thin. I hold and sit back down, very sheepishly and very apologetically.

    Leave high-fiving to your cat/monitor/anything that isn't in a live cardroom.

    I have twice seen guys get knocked out at poker tables in Casinos over bad calls or minor smack talk. Saw a guy totally flip out in the Borgada in AC and it took security a good 3 minutes to show up.

    Definitely would avoid any high 5s or smack talk when playing live.

    Yeah, agreed. This was a one-off, but I appraised the situation before doing it. Guys on the table were pretty casual and mainly young and just having fun (like me). I didn't cross anybody, and nobody took it too badly.
