  1. I like the play, but what happens if someone min raises or bets 3x the BB preflop?

What would you do if your stack was 1500 and blinds were 25/50 would it be worth it to limp then?
  2. good post man...i lost alot of my stack in my early days playing against those type of players and I have just recently found out the shove with the nuts move about 3 months ago. easy to get paid off when they hit top pair or two pair. sometimes its hard to adjust you play and go against everything youve learned and think, but in those low-limit games it really pays off
  3. lol, i will never lose a sng again do to this advice, all i need to do is flop a set and have the other guy make 2 pair.
  4. I dont really like the play in that hand. Besides, 79 busts the hell out of your bottom set and many low limit players would call a minibet with a gutshot. One of the reasons people should play the low limit tournaments is to become better players so that they can move up. If plays like this become ingrained in a player they will get crushed when they attempt to play for stakes that matter.
  5. aka implied odds
  6. Always nice to hit the Case card especially when it helps your opponents too.

  7. I agree, ABC poker will work against majority of weaker players. But shoving a small pot and getting someone to call off all their chips with a hand they should clearly laydown is anything but ABC poker. It's just a way to totally maximize your hand and becomes the ultimate value bet in low limit sngs. With this type of play, it doesn't just allow you to beat the low sngs, it allows you to crush them.
  8. It's all about relying on what your read of the player is. Sometimes the play works, sometimes it backfires; like any other play in poker.

In terms of getting crushed at "stakes that matter".....read the very first sentence of this entire thread. :) Besides, if your mutli-tabling (8) these mofos and are making at least 20% ROI, you're already making more than someone flipping burgers for min wage. So these stakes probably matter to someone out there building the foundation for their bankroll.

Also, becoming a better player isn't about learning ONE way to play and applying the same skill set at different levels. Becoming a better player is all about switching gears and adjusting to game conditions. This play is just that.....an adjustment to game conditions.
  9. id like to know what u guys think of this hand that happened a few minuted ago in a $5 sng i was playing and i was wondering if this was the right or if i could have played it differently
