  1. Ok, first, sorry I don't have exact hand history. I closed out of FT to keep myself from vomiting my chips onto tables from tilt. I'm not listing suits, because there was never any kind of FD on the board, and I don't remember them. Here's the hand from memory:

5NL game, Hero with $7.14 in position, Villain with $8ish.

    Hero: 99

Villain Raises to $0.15 (3BB), Hero Calls, all limpers fold back to Villain.

    Flop: 2-6-K

Villain checks, Hero bets $0.25, Villain thinks for a minute, and calls.

    Turn: 9

Villain bets $0.10, Hero raises to $0.75, Villain Calls

    River: 8

Villain checks, Hero bets $1.75, Villain shoves, Hero calls.

Showdown: Villain Shows KK, Hero mucks.

What could I have done, if anything, differently? Is this just a bad cooler that I couldn't have predicted? Should I have def folded at some point? Help?
  2. If you are looking for some clue that you could've had, it would be the fact that he came alive on the river on a card that isn't really a great card to bluff on.

If he was bluffing, he'd be representing that he had a 7 T the whole time. That isn't a very likely bluff. The way he played it really doesn't point to a made straight either because at best, he'd have an inside straight and draw on the flop and/or turn, so it's hard to believe he'd keep calling (of course it is a .05 game), but still you should have a read on him for this by now.

So my read would be that he thinks he has the best hand, but it probably isn't a straight.

The only hands that make sense are trips which you are beating all of except KKK, and two pair hands. So you are winning most of the time. I think you have to call here all the time in a .05 game, especially since the pot is bigger than your remaining stack.
  3. +1 pretty much... although the weak turn bet a lot of times is a super strong hand hoping that you'll think it's weakness and come over the top.

When you put that action, together with his river bet and a good read you could fold. But as played I think is fine.
  4. POT CONTROL in my opinion.. i knwo cash games are all abotu building the pot to yoink it. But from what i see the board is not that drawy when your flatted on the flop its not horrible to just smooth call the turn.. becuz the only thing that calls ur 75 on the turn is a better hand. wen there is only 60 cents in the pot it is pretty much a dead pot and no reason to raise to 75 to steal it. pot control..
