hmmmm,
1/4 mill...shit i say get ya run good on, on a usain bolt type schit -
I haven't played much poker in a while, but I used to play this tournament a lot over the last couple years. No major deep runs or anything, but fair enough finishes for an amateur poker player I guess.
Focus on chipping up here and there throughout the tournament since the levels are only 10 minutes long. It doesnt have to be big pots all the time, but just keep accumulating. However, I do recall a large number of times in this tournament getting paid off bigtime when I had a monster, so you should be able to get pretty solid value out of your quality hands.
The second hour is where your chip stack really needs to grow with the ante's coming into play. You'll see a lot of stacks in the 10k-25k range during the middle of this hour and you'll want to start to separate yourself a little bit and be on the higher end of stacks at your table. You'll want to start 3-betting more where it makes sense to.
Since it's your first time, I wouldnt get too hung up on anything further than the 1st or 2nd hours, but if you make it past that point, continue to monitor your stack relative to the blinds/antes and also in relation to those at your table.
Good luck! -
I took 3rd once. Won a bunch of flips, couple suckouts, couple 60/40, couple 40/60s. Basically just run super hot and try to get it in good as much as possible, which isn't hard because everyone in that tourny is miserable.

cheers guys, i consider myself above average player still with lots to learn about online poker i've just started to take online poker serious this year and i've looked at this a few times, but the number of players has always put me off, i think i could cash in it, would be good to take it to that next level, looking forward to it, thanks

Got 2nd in this Sunday it is really insane how good you have to run to make it. What is even funnier is how bad and scared money everyone is near the end. Im a mid stakes hu sng grinder, so i got pretty agressive push fold/ reshove range, works perfectly in this tournament. People are so scared to bust its hilarious ...
But to illustrate how much of a lottery this is the guy who won was awfull he would open shove 30bb+ all the time with 85o / qjo and stuff. Hu he overshoved half of his hands while we were 80bb effecitve even stacks and he eventually sucked out with 8j against my at. But cant complain i guess i had a winning ticket in this lottery last sunday! -
got 9th once, run good and abuse steal spots and weak players

sirjwab is dead on!! deepest i got was 25th and blinds are so huge that it all comes down to flips and not getting coolered, when you're down to 40-60 players you basically see no flops and its all flips so win those or cooler someone else and you'll final table with eeeeaaaase!
