Hi all,
This is my first post on here as I just joined up. This Sunday I will be playing in the Sunday Million for the first time. Up until now i have been playing mainly $4 MTT SNG on pokerstars. I've been watching Sunday Million tables at different times in the tourney. At what point does the tournament change from regular play to shoveaments? What differences in my game do I need to have in playing a $4 MTT SNG to playing on the Sunday Million? Any other advice yall might have for me in playing in the Sunday Million? Thanks.
Sincerely,
Lee -
hmmm, i would probably go with: play better...and run well

win all your flips
hit all your draws
fade everything -
Its $215, you better play well.

I would call my style of play tight passive. Don't bluff a lot, like to play solid hands and flop monsters and let people bet into me. I do have some problems with mid pocket pairs like 10's... Those seem to be the hands that get me in the most trouble if i don't flop a set. You know if you have pocket 10's (raised pre flop and a caller) and the flop is like 2 J 8 and you bet on the flop and the other guy raises you all in what to do?
-
lol.
tight-passive should get you to the final table in no time. -
being sarcastic i assume?

If you're mainly playing 4.40s, I suggest you forget about the Million. Unregister, take the $T, and keep playing within your bankroll.
-
yeah well as they say on Rounders, "you can't lose what you don't put in the middle, but you can't gain much either." I got into the Million on a satellite so i'm gonna play, even though the buy in is large compared to my bankroll.

rounders reference to how to play poker.. sigh

-

if you satty into the mills for a few bucks, give it a shot; why not? play your game, and don't get too fancy. Look, bottom line is, you are going to play with a field of about 7,000 players, a lot of the players also have satty'd into it, you will run into a lot of online/live pros. there is over Million dollars to play for with top getting about 200k. so play it, or blow the money on about (40) 4.40's. you will have to get lucky many times to get to the top and you will defnitely be forced to put all your chips in the middle many times as well. the cards will either hit you or they won't, that's just poker.

If you want to take a shot outside the br, maybe unregister, take the $T, and play the Daily Fifty Grand x4?

Good game sir! :) -
and run like forest gump FTW
-
possibly because it usually means their friend is all in with AJ and behind.
-
stake someone better than you...
win flips
play aggressively late
if you dont know how to play aggressively...
stake someone better than you...
and also unlike the 4.40 180 mans some people do know how to play here, figure out who they are and their play styles -
Geuax Tigerz!!!!
That being said, you dont seem ready for the mil. Take the T$ cashout and sit at my table at harrahs this weekend please.

1. if you have an Avatar picture from the movie "Rounders" get rid of it now or nobody will respect a raise from you.
2. Don't base any decision in life on a movie quote -

I always thought the Million is such a long shot. Yes you got a chance to cash and get your money back and maybe a few bucks. Sure you got a chance to defy odds and win against a 6000+ player field, but its going to be rough.
If you were going to take a shot I always thought you could play a nightly $100 freeze out with 300 to 400 player fields. You got two shots and a legitamate chance to win several thousand.
You sound pretty set on playing and I dont blame you. If you dont cash this time. the next time you win a satelite check out a late night $100 freezeout field on stars and see if you think its a good value.
Have fun, good luck -
Listen, from someone that has won this stupid tourney i cosign the guy who said drop out and play what your comfortable playing! Your basically throwing away 50 buyins to what u normally play and u admittedly play a tight passive game which does not fit the style u need to beat 7000 players... If you dont need the $$ and want to take a shot then fine but if u do u need to consider unregistering and waiting for another million to play.... They arent gonna stop running them.. gl in whatever u do
